#16 question
« on: June 30, 2008, 07:40:32 AM »
Can anyone that has some #16 post a picture of what it looks like in the tin? I bought a tin a while back on Ebay, and have used it a couple times, but something just doesn't seem right about it.

Firefighter i know has these photos, he was over at the house and we too noticed that the newer Tins are lighter in color inside than the older tins.

Is your like a very light light blue in color?

Yes. Very light blue and watery.

Watery?  Um, no, there should be no water in that tin.  I would suspect that is not water unless it was in a flood.

What did you pay for that tin?

Let me just say, mine don't look like that.  That is scary looking

In fact they look, no where near that...about to get on a con call, but after that I will get a photo of a new and old tin.

It's kept in my shop, which is climate controlled. It's been like this since I got it. That and it doesn't have the durability or the slightly difficult removal that I was expecting of #16. It didn't last any longer than my Nattys Blue.

yeah I am on the fence with the #16 but to my eyes, I really canot "see" look differences that much.  I would argue that C845 is more durable than 16.  I have C845 on my camper and water still beads like crazy onthe places I have it.  Front Cap and rear wall.

Back when I first started using Natty's which was only about a year or so...I was told by some that it would last only 3 months...but I still see water beading up on my brothers Rover after 8 months where we used Nattys Red.    I do know that Scott from Specialty Motoring is a member here now, so maybe this is a question he can give us his opnion on...or we could post it at the PB site and see what Steve says.

Now, S100 for example, I know will only go for about 3 months...

Hey man if you need a can, I have a spare.  Its a new one I bought on the last go around.
I have 3 tins of it so letting one go would be ok with me.

Let me know

JP

I may just buy a tin from e-shine. I don't really NEED any though. IMO C845 offers similar performance. Thanks for the offer and the help.

I haven't even opened my two tins that I got from eshine...maybe I'll have to do that today after work. I'm really eager to use it next time I was the truck, but that will be at least three weekends from now....I'm a bad truck owner  :thump:

If eShines doesn't open up with those cases soon (or at all) I may have to beg someone for a tin.

Kinda on the fence though between #16 and Natty's Red.

My personal opinion...get the Nattys Red, or Blue.

I think I remember Rock say, #16 was almost like a novelty b/c it's sold in the US, fact of the matter is, sales on that product were lower until they took it off the shelf....I do remember Rock saying that.

Its fun to have something hard to get...it is a good LSP, but for durabilty, I would rather use C845, I have every flavor of Nattys, love them all.

BTW, I did just order another can of Red for myself b/c I use the heck out of it.
