By the way, Maddie turned 7 months on the 10th and is only getting cuter, in my humble opinion.

She’s almost always smiling unless she doesn’t feel well.  We had to take her to urgent care while we were just down in Tennessee because she wasn’t feeling good well.  She had another ear infection.  We are taking her to an ENT to figure out why she keeps getting them.

One of my buddies has a little girl that had them pretty often when she was super young. Apparently they put in a temporary tube or something to help prevent them from happening.

I hope you’re having a good time down there!

Yeah we are hoping to avoid tubes.

We came back from Tennessee two days before
Christmas.  It was an ok trip.  Disappointing.  Took the side by side and four wheeler only to barely ride them.  I waited all day one of the days for everyone to get motivated only for them to want to go out for one hour just before dark.  I stayed back and loaded everything back up.  The place we rented had direct trail access just a few miles down the road so we didn’t have to trailer anything to the trail heads.

Spent all night in the children’s ER.  Double ear infection has Maddie in really bad shape.  Finally gave in when she wouldn’t eat or sleep and her fever hit 103.8 even on Tylenol and Motrin. She’s doing better now though.

Been there done that (the ER) with my son and now our grand kids. No fun for sure. Glad to hear she's doing better though!

Thanks.

Wife called this morning and said she checked her chart on our online portal and her Covid test came back positive.  Which explains why every doctor said her fever was way too high for just ear infections.  Either way she slept great last night and is doing much better today.

Our 2-year-old grandson just recovered from croup and COVID - at the same time. The little guy handled it like a champ though.  I hope your daughter does as well.

She’s getting better.  Sleeping a lot.  Still tugging at her ears making me think they’re still bothering her.  ENT is scheduled for February 22.  Long way out but better than the initial March date they gave us.

On a side note, she is 8 months old today!

I really hope she is on the mend and the Specialist can get you some answers at the very least!

We had a follow up of our ER visit at our pediatrician yesterday.  Her ears have cleared up (for now) and her temperature has been good for a few days now.  Cassie actually gets regular allergy shots at her ENT so she asked if they would see an 8 month old baby and they said yes.  She now has an ENT appointment for Thursday of this week which is great.

Her ENT appointment was today. We signed off on her getting tubes put in.  There is fluid behind her ear drums.  It’s limiting her hearing quite a bit which I actually haven’t noticed at all but the doctor said it’s by about 30-35 decibels. He also said it could affect the development of her speech. If I had to guess her balance could be affected too. So she goes February 7th for her tubes.  They stay in for a year to 18 months. And statistics say it should be a one time thing.
