I can’t wait  to see what this does once we can turn it up a bit. Making over 500hp without even hitting redline or going full throttle.

Slowly making improvements to the tune. According to the logs we are making more power on 91 with these turbos, then e30 with the old ones. Likely means that as long as we have enough injector capacity that we can hit my target of 600whp with 94.

So I assume new injectors are already in your cart somewhere just incase.  Right next to a new set of wheels and tires.

Injectors are in the bench, just need pigtails as they have a different connection.

I’m hoping we can make good numbers without them and I can just return them. I don’t really trust any aftermarket injector.

Tackled a few things on the truck today.

Fixed the coolant leak, it was a major pain but got it done

Changed the oil, cleaned the Blow off valve out and swapped in the TurboSmart waste gates to try and get the turbos under better control.

I’ll do some testing tomorrow and log some driving to send to the tuner.

Found the source of the boost control issue the tuner was having. The original WasteGates were just too stiff for the application. Swapped in softer sprung ones and all I’d right again.

Now time to sort out some shifting issues and add a little more boost. Then onto the big boy tune with 94 octane.

 Now we’re talking!

Do you have any acceleration numbers from the previous setup or are you going off of seat of the pants and dyno numbers. I’d be curious how it translates to performance.

And just like that, it all goes sideways, lol. Cam sensor codes and a dead truck 7 hours from home. Got it back home with some help from
my old F350 and my Cousins new tremor.

Oh no.  That sucks.

Did they drive 7 hours to come get you and the trailer or were you headed in their direction?  That’s awesome they were able to help.

The truck died right in the middle of the trip. It took the wife 7 hours to get to us from the west and my Dad a little under 8 hours to get to us from the east.

Were you on your way to your destination or were you already there and enjoying the trip when it happened.

Sorry that was worded poorly. I meant halfway through the drive to my Dads.

We were just heading out to start the Vacay. The plan was to get about 8 solid days out at my Dads, but it is what it is. We are at my Dads now and will get in some fun before we have to head back.

How was the truck running before that?  Any indications it was coming or thoughts on what the problem is?

It was running awesome, right up until I started pushing it up a hill and then it went sideways pretty quickly after that. The codes point to cam and timing set issues. All the plugs looked good, which is a sign that it’s top end related.
