Tightened up the preload and got the ride height where I want it, but the ride is certainly rougher. I’ll probably back off the preload to be about halfway between where it was and is now.

Also went to the local car wash late last night to give it a bucket wash.

A little jealous of your car wash.  Ours don’t have doors on them.  Might be a good thing since I don’t fit length wise in the bay anyway.

Your preload issues sound the same as my sxs.  I cranked the springs to give me more ground clearance and it rode like crap.  I lifted it (essentially a shock relocation bracket) and was able to dial it back down to get the same clearance but near stock ride.  Settled in the middle (leaning more towards stock.)

I’m pretty much set on doing a lift, just not sure when. Kinda sucks that I won’t be able to use my rear 2.5’a though. I’ll just run my 2.5’s up front with the spacer.

Took the family out for a drive and a small campfire. Roasted some marshmallows and sausage.

Temps were just below freezing, so we weren’t out for a super long time, but had some fun.

That looks like a great way to spend a day!  Amazing area you live in.

I love this shot but I had to mess with it a little because the shadows were too dark.

Went back out to the trails today. Had a good time with my “wheeling” buddy. Had to pull out my cable chains (can’t find my V bars) and the winch to get up a couple steep and slippery sections. It was a good day.

Man I love this.

So that picture of you winching up the hill makes me laugh because it reminds me of those memes that are like “what you think something is going to be like vs what it’s actually like.”  You see pictures of perfect winter wonderlands and everything’s going perfect.  In reality you get dirty snow, nasty snow that you have to winch through at a quarter mile per hour.

That’s riding for sure.  It’s not all power slides and catching air with perfect landings.  Haha.  Those boat guys wouldn’t understand...  haha

This is a video of me coming down that hill in the last pic above.

I made it up without chains, but it was a wild ride back down. My buddy did the same as this in reverse, because he only made it up 2/3rds of the way on his attempt.

Warning, there is some foul language (you’re big boys, I know you can handle it ).

It doesn’t even look bad in the pic, but that’s a ice covered 20 degree slope. The one I’m sliding down in the vid was only about 12 degrees.

I was puckering up just watching that video. Must have been wild behind the wheel!  :drive:
