I can understand the quieter exhaust being appealing.  I was tired of the sound of my 6.2 and welcomed the Duramax with open arms.

Ordered up a 6" round Magnaflow muffler to replace the front resonator. Should get the decibel level down enough. If not, I'll pull it and sell it for more than I paid.
Since back form the trip, I've been able to drive the truck more. It runs really strong, I hope my butt dyno isn't way off and it's all placebo.

I've been trying to call to get some dyno time booked, but haven't been able to make it happen. Big trip planne in two weeks and I would like to get numbers and logs for Mike before I go.

A fun trip or a business trip?  I need to take a trip somewhere.

Fun trip thank goodness! Making the drive back home again to bring stuff there and back.

Also have a few "races" lined up. My brother wants to line up and kick my but with his Duramax and my nephews want to beat me with their Camaro SS and BOSS 302 Stang.

Should be fun. I expect they will all beat me in the 1/4, but will be fun to give them a run.

Threw a fresh set of plugs in it in prep for the Dyno next week. The originals still looked great, but I figured I had them so I should just throw the new ones in.

How many miles are on it ?

I did mine in my 2014 at 60K while the VCT solenoids were being replaced; not as if that is a good compare with the 5.4 to the EB.

It only has 35k miles on it. But, I kept reading about how hard the eco is on plugs. I guess mine is some sort of unicorn and the plugs were ok.

People say that they have to replace their plugs every 15k miles when tuned, or they have "blow-out" issues. Mine were fine and still close to the original gap.

Either that or the replacing plugs every 15K miles is over done, same as how the 2V 5.4L was very susceptible to the plugs blowing out.
- 3 people doing something turns into 300,000 per month for some reason with the rumor mill.

I'm sure it stemmed from the first two years of the motor. FoMoCo didn't have any consistency with the plug gap from the factory floor. So a lot of people had blow out issues and blammed it on the plugs "wearing out" too early.

I figured that I change plugs every 50k miles in my other NA vehicles, so a boosted motor (running higher than OEM boost levels) may need plugs sooner than that.

At least now I know and I will go 50k on this set, checking gap halfway through.

So did my 2000 5.4 on the side of a mountain while moving to Vancouver. That sucked.

Couple of minor tweaks to the truck today. Cut out the resonator to put in a larger muffler. So basically running two mufflers now, lol. Volume was reduced and is now acceptable to the Wife. I prefer it now too. Just doesn't sound as good as a V8 and never will.

Also put in a GrillCraft MX lower Grill. Found it cheap on Craigslist and wanted something to fill the hole. I have "grand plans" to put in a winch sometime in the future, but it's a bit of a pipe-dream at the moment.

I ended up ordering the same upper grill and it should be here next week. Not a Raptor Grill like I wanted, but much cheaper and changes it up from the stock one that I just don't like.

This is how the 'high numbers' start.

This is 2 did.
Mine, Toms and JPs did not, so some will come up with a 40% failure rate..
