Seat of the pants is the beat judge on a daily driver.  What else matters.  But braking is equally if not more important and its always nice to have more mpg.  In the end, it makes a difference.  Unlike a lot of intakes or exhausts that technically on a dyno adds a few hp/tq but you can't even tell.  SOTP FTW

Actual performance increases instead of SOTP it just feels quicker.
- Other wise it is no different than the intakes or exhausts you posted about.

What is the time reduction in terms of 30 to 50 MPH ( or 50 to 70 or 60 to 80 )  by decreasing weight 10# in each corner of a 6000# truck for the same size tire ?
- 0 to 60 for a Ford F150 is ~ 6 seconds.

Generally if you can feel it, there's actual increase.  The same isnt always said for the other way around.  You won't feel that extra 4 HP from an intake even though its there.  You should feel a difference in rotating mass.  All things equal, spinning a 10lb object vs a 20lb object should require noticeably more force/effort.  Once that object, lets call it a disk, it up and moving, its also much harder to stop the heavier object.  You can break it down in to percentages but heavier is always going to be harder, be it one pound or 20 pounds.  The greater the change the greater the difference.  How much of that you feel is going to be personal sensitivelity, and how much you can live with is all going to be personal preference.  The difference is there even if it doesn't bother you as much as the next guy.
If you always do what you\'ve always done, you\'ll always get what you\'ve always got.

I absolutely agree that SOTP feel is subjective. For me, that combined with the difference at the pump (keep in mind I pay more than $5 a gallon for gas) and them being a cheaper tire, is a no brainer.

Acceleration and braking degradation was noticeable moving to my 20's. IMO, the weight was only one factor. Going to 20's, I shifted the weight further away from the axles. It makes just as much of a difference. Same going to bigger tires on the same size wheels, which is what I'll be doing.

I have no need for heavy D or E rated tires, heck C rated tires have a way higher capacity (and still heavy IMO) then even my rear GAWR. For my needs, if I could find an aggressive AT that was P rated, I would go for it.

Opticoat done and I'll let them sit overnight to cure a bit before putting them on.

Proof is in the pictures as Tom would say.

I've completely lost track of your wheel and tire combos.  Looks good though!

Ha, these are the same as I ran for winter last year. I really hope I can figure out a way to scrape together some $$$ for the ridge grapplers. I saw them in person today and am very impressed.

I was able to get the Raptor's mounted today with some new Black lug nuts. I honestly think they look better with Chrome lugs, so I'll likely order a set of Gorrilla in Chrome. I also went and picked up a AVS Aeroblade bug deflector. I don't think I'll be super happy with the look, but I want to protect the hood from rock chips. The paint on this thing is razor thin. I won't put it on until do the coating on the hood.

What about a clear film on the front end.

Man that truck reminds of a Jeep.....you are NEVER done with it.

Just one more mod, just one more, just one more.

Your whip looks so awesome dude.  Seriously.  I am almost as satisfied as you are with the "build"

Good thing you don't have a hitch on.  How many times have you hit that wall?

Front Bumper has 3M clear vinyl on it, but I never did the hood or front edge of the fenders. Should have when new, but now it's too late with the couple of chips on the hood. I figure the aeroskin will look good enough to be on for the winter.

I guess I'm never really done with anything, but I'm pretty happy with it as it is now. I like the Ridge Grapplers enough that I may sell the 20's to get them. We'll see as the Raptor wheels aren't in mint shape and I like the idea of running separate wheels in the winter.

I've bumped it a couple of times, but nothing bad. I love having the back-up camera.

Here's how tight it usually is  :wow:

I hope you all are enjoying the long week-end. I made the mistake of going out yesterday to do some shopping. Took almost 30 minutes just to get a parking spot. :drive:

My gym is in the mall parking lot across from another mall.  Wanna guess what that was like?  Haha.  I didn't hit any traffic getting there but leaving... I wanted to stab people.

I picked up a set of painted OEM fender flares today for $50! Pretty happy even though they are black, they were mint and taken off the truck before it even left the dealership. For that price, it won't break the bank to have them painted in Blue Flame.
