Finished up the clearcoat. Now I'll just let them cure a couple of days (baked them a bit tonight) and then final polish and coating before install.

Shouldn't have bothered washing the truck yesterday, rained here today and got dirty heading up to the bike trials.

Looks good!  Actually looked pretty cool without the clear too.

Finally, some results! I was able to get the surround installed today. The bottom piece...well I kinda messed that one up. I went to clear coat it and grabbed a can of WHITE paint that I slapped a clear-coat lid on :uugly: dumb, dumb, dumb. So I re-painted it and now have to find some time to dip it.

Dipped and cleared the bottom piece today. Now I just have to wait a bit for it to cure, polish it and pop it on.

Next step is to hit all the dipped pieces with C.A.R. Bullet proof coating. I'm going to attempt to do it at the same time I apply the coating to the roof and bumpers.

Looking good!  Couldn't help but laugh at the white pain though.  Mostly because I put myself in your shoes and I can only imagine the thoughts and feelings as it sprayed white.  Haha

Man, at first I was pretty miffed. Than I realized it was not really a big deal, just more time to get it sorted out.

All done now and onto the next project! PTM FORD and F150 badges.

Knocked out the Badges today. I had Plastic-Dipped the F-150 emblems, so I wanted to re-do them with actual paint. Man, what a pain to sand down really well. They came out OK, but I wish I hadn't sanded down the inset what I did them originally. I'll likely buy a new set of Limited badges when I can put some money aside for them.

Before and after Plasti-Dip removal

Chrome pieces after matt Black paint

Insets painted blue

Rear badge after assembly

Thanks Guys, I like the results. Only chrome left is the lug nuts and I already have black ones to replace them.

I'm tossing around getting the Raptor wheels done in PVD black Chrome. I think it would look pretty cool. Only thing holding me back is if I lift the truck in a couple of years, that the Raptor wheels won't work.

Hey the PVD done by someone reputeable.  My wheels are PVD bright chrome and they're peeling BAD!  Mine are American Racing.

I've heard good things about a local shop and they warranty their work. Only good option otherwise looks like Detroit wheel and tire. It would be a lot extra shipping them back and forth.

Apparently, there is also a good powdercoating shop in town that does wheels. I'm going to dig into it a bit.

I just love the black-chrome look and think it might pop a little on the truck.

Couldn't wait any longer, I ordered some 2" blocks for the rear. Stocker's are 1.25" and I am thinking the 3/4" will give me the rake I'm looking for. I have a set of 3" blocks that came with the front spacers, but think it would just put me back into too much rake.

I hope to get them in the same time I install the Fox 2.0's on the back.

I was finally able to wash the truck the weekend after a month of neglect. Raptor wheels with the winters will go on next weekend. I may even get a deal on some take off KO2's. I'm not holding my breath though and don't really even need to spend the $$$ right now. But a deal is a deal...right??? :dunno:
