Glad they are doing well!

Our scale is different, but basically the same increments.

It was super smoky here yesterday, but cleared up a lot today, which is good. I have a short hike planned for tomorrow and hope it’s not smoky.

Have you been to Waterton Lakes?  I am currently, most unsuccessfully, planning a trip to Glacier National Park and I know they form an international peace park.  Trying to decide if I should a dedicate a day to hop over the border.

I haven’t been down there yet, but we plan to next summer. It looks like a really cool place.

If we go it will be the last week of July 2024.  Probs lay spend one day there and the rest of the week in Glacier National Park.

Glacier is a big park and probably the most complicated US National Park to visit outside of alaskas parks.  I just don’t know if a night in Waterton will be worth it or not.

Well, keep me posted. I would make the drive down if I’m able to.

Will do.  There are four areas to Glacier and all of them need their own pass.  But the passes are hard to come by because they sell out almost instantly.  They become available one year in advance.  Some of that can be bypassed by either showing up extra early to the park, securing a boat ride in that specific area or staying in one of the lodges in that specific area.  I’m trying to build my itinerary right now so I can try like hell to secure lodging in each of the locations to gain access and minimize driving multiple hours each direction each day.  I need to have it Al profited out by July 1st, 2023 in order to best secure everything I need for July 2024.  Ugh.

The truck has been working really well. We are at a point now where I’m out of fuel and need to install a bigger in tank pump. Hopefully I’ll get it in over the next few days. I already had the bigger pump, just gotta wait until the fuel level is low in the tank.

It was a matter of time since you can’t leave well enough alone. Haha

We were able to secure our lodging for Glacier National Park next July.  Had to wake up and be logged in ready to select our rooms at 2:00am.  3 different locations.  By the time we got to our third location rooms were selling out too fast and the network was swamped with people so we weee getting tons of errors.  Now we have charges for like 6 different hotels and over $4000.  Haha.  Ended up settling on a room somewhere we didn’t really want for our first night.  Not a big deal.  But now with all of these charges it’s possible we did manage to reserve our top choice but I have to call to confirm and/or dispute the charges.  Next up is rental cars and flight but I have to wait until later this month before the dates are available for that.  Then 4 months out I can do it all over again for the car reservations to access the different parts of the park that our hotel for that night is not in.  As far as Waterton, if we make it there it will likely just be to catch the boat ride back in to a remote section of Glacier to do what’s rated as one of the top hikes in the world, the Crypt Lake trail, in the Goat Haunt area of Glacier.

Wow, I heard about stuff selling out fast, but that’s crazy.

I will definitely plan on making the trip down for a visit.

Have you gotten any rain up there?  I’m still seeing reports of smoke now out west from the Canadian fires and we are still getting really poor air quality here but not as bad as weeks ago.

It’s been raining here and there. It actually seemed like for about two weeks, we would have beautiful weather during the day and the rain at night.

The smoke seemed to be worse here over the past week, not as bad as it was but noticeable. Pretty clear today.

Well, probably the last summer with this truck coming up, so decided to enter it in a couple of shows. Lots of clean up and even paint work needed. I’ll post up as it progresses.

While inevitable, say it ain’t so!  So much time and money in it.  What’s the plan moving forward from it?
