Think I am going to have to check on fitting one of the smaller ones between the Hella lamps on my grille.

That bottom line, clip out the honeycomb between the lamps and mount LED bar in there below the Ford logo ??? :dunno:

- I keep forgetting to get a new picture with the matte black 3M 1080 vinyl wrap done on the front bumper.

Steve,

Another thing you might want to think about is the "too many lights / JC Whitney effect." You're going to be in a serious "diminishing returns" area too.

Did you see the front of the Goldwing ?   :wow:

Dual bulb headlamp, fog lamps under that, cornering lamps and outboard HID lamps.  :redneck:
- ZG is right there, no cornering lamps...

When I am cruising the roads at 3:00 AM, I don't like surprises.

Maybe I should just finish the Hella low beam mod on the pass side fog lamp and call it good... :dunno:

Or dump the other lights, you won't need them anymore.  Just saying.

New grille time then.... :dope:

well boys I hate to say this but I removed the light bar and brackets tonight.

The light bar is awesome...but the a pillar brackets from RockSlide are total junk.

They developed a wicked popping noise with the slightest body roll...I couldn't live with that noise so I ordered a set of brackets from Rough Country.

I will offer my phone number to anyone that wants to PM me with question b/c the issues I have had with these brackets is WAY too much to type.

The light bar is amazing and I will put it back on once I get the new brackets but I am beyond disappointed in RockSlide...I call them on this and they offered zero assistance.

Here is the note I sent to David, and this is in no way a reflection of him, this is a Rockslide issue.

Quote
We just tried to reinstall the brackets using the longer bolts?to no avail.  Could not pull them in tight against the A-Pillars.    Pretty frustrated with them, I removed the light bar and brackets all together.

The issues with the Rockslides:

   1.  I had to modify them so they didn?t scratch the paint
   2.  They are not a matching set?meaning, the bends are not the same all the way up passenger and driver side, which would explain #3
   3.  The spacing at the top to fit the posts on the light bar is too big if you ask me.  Spacing should be much closer and equal on both sides.  Driver?s side had 1? gap and the passenger side is 3/4?          gap.
   4.   Rockslide didn?t really offer any real assistance to the above issues.
   5.  Bolt quality compared to stock is very, very low.   They are both the same thread pattern but they are of much lower quality and don?t thread right.  It feels like you are going to break them off compared to the smoothness of the stock bolts.

Gonna chuck em in the trash.   Maybe I got a bad set?   Who knows but not worth the risk of damaging the 14? jeep.

I just ordered a set of Rough Country brackets.   They come with a rubber gasket too so gonna give them a try, if they work out better, I will let you know and maybe if you can get Rockslide to look into their QC.

BTW, I gave out all your business cards, so I suspect you may get a few more orders for bars.   In my personal opinion, I would eval another bracket company.   Rockslide has some kick ass stuff but it really makes me wonder if I will buy another one of their products.

I still want to buy another light bar from you for the front bumper?but need more details on a bracket for the stock bumper.

JP

That's too bad.  Hopefully you get it worked out.  Possible the brackets work better with other lightbars?  That doesn't fix the paint scratching issue though.

Steve,

I just finished wiring mine up and doing a rough aiming. (Lousy weather here.) Yup, Even with some shrouding effects, I'd say you can get rid of the Hellas. Wowzers!

Thanks man, disregard the rusty bolt that was from the old bracket, I had to use it...lost 2 OEM's.   May touch up with a little paint.

Well Steve, here's another teaser for you. I took the truck out tonight to meet my son for dinner, then a haircut. (Yes, I still have enough hair to require a cut once a month.) Without any real scientific aiming (just eyeballing the bar to be about level), I tied the bar out on a back road. It absolutely blew away my high beam headlights. You couldn't even tell they were on. And, even with the partial shrouding of the grill, the amount and quality of the light was amazing.

And yes, I will post pics up once I get the final aiming done.

OK, side modification.

Ordered a Truck-Lite 7" LED headlamp to try in the Rallye 4000 series bucket.

Going to try this 1st with one side, to see if it works for the mounting.
It  gets a lot of good reviews for the high beam side.
- Toss up if I am going to wire the high & Lo together or switch the low beam independent.

By they time you get over the sticker shock of two of those you could be enjoying a nice light bar.   :)    :whisp:  just saying
