52" single row light bar install
« on: October 24, 2013, 08:12:52 PM »
Got it done today.

Had to call in my really smart buddy to help me.  We had to make some mods to the brackets and other things.

Got it done clean.

Hard to see, but we had to bust out the grinder and re shape the corners.

another view

There was a gap between the light bar and bracket so we used a sawsall then grinder to make a spacker washer

We ground this to make it round.

another look

all powered up and making some adjustments, my buddy jerry

Here is a shot showing my Samford and Suns back yard

Here is the pillar pod installed.

Light on:

So our mod didn't work as planned so we used 2 nuts and a star washer....problem solved. This is the trick for sure

This is the only wire you can see.   We got creative and hide all but this 1/2 inch

Head on in the day light

Here is another view of the corner we ground down, it was cutting in to the paint so I used some 3m clear tape and this should work better now

OK OK OK OK SO WHAT.... show us the lights on in the dark,

Ok here ya go.

Fogs only :

Fogs and Head Lights

Fogs, Head Lights, and Light Bar

This is just Fogs and Light bar

I am really pleased with the products I got from Texas Liberty LED, David was awesome, gave me some great tips and great pricing.   The Brackets are from Rockslide Engineering.   The A Pillar light pod is from Rugged Ridge.

All products were bought through Texas Liberty LED.   Give David a shout...great pricing and great support.

That sure looks  like it will light up the road!

Did you hook it up to your high beams?

Pictures don't do it justice.  if you look at the last one you can actually see the spot beams on the ground about 150 yards away

Slap that bad boy on a relay so it can come on with the high beams too .....

Are you really going to do that much offroading at night? Or is there really nobody driving around by you at night  :redneck:

I just ordered an SR30 to hide behind the grill on my truck. It will replace the Hella 550 Driving Lights that are there now.

I can't wait to get one for my grille.  It will be flush mounted though.  I don't like anything obstructing the light.

I know those pictures don't do it any justice.  I bought my girl a high power flashlight to keep with her and its around 1700lumens and it throws a ton of light.  Something like 700 meters.

you are going to love it Tom.

Did you order a harness too?    They don't come with much, just a cut wire about 20 inches long.

Yea, I'm looking forward to getting it and re-fabricating the brackets to make it fit. I didn't order a harness. I'm going to wire it directly to the relay that runs the current lights. It's triggered off of the high beams.

David told me he shipped to you yesterday...you should have received an email with tracking.

Let me know if you don't get it.

Cool! I haven't received an e-mail yet, but I'm sure I'll see something soon. Can't wait to get it installed so I can work on my rapidly fading tan.

I like it! I need extra light on the truck and that solves a bunch of issues I didn't want to deal with.

The 30in light bar will fit perfectly on the bumper in front of the grill on a Super Duty.

Exactly what I was thinking. I also looked at there 39" low-profile light bar and I may go that route instead. I figure you could hook it up to the high beams (via relay) and run it to a Upfitter switch if you wanted it on independently.

I'm getting jealous now.  I might need to make this happen soon.  I looked behind my grille today... it might be tight in there.  And im concerned with blocking air flow to the radiator.
