Remember fiberglass/gel coat is porous and it can have all kinds or problems if to much resin was used or it was not allowed the time to cure properly. Even a shoddy repair will look nice but rear it's head years down the road and I can't begin to tell you how many brand new RV's I've seen at the body shop down the road from work getting fixed because someone shot a staple through side of it or it was damaged during transport.
