Which Makita do you have ? ( the rotary or the selectable DA - forced rotation DA )

I have the same unit, but I have only used it for cleaning pads w/ the grit guard so far.  Have not needed it for paint yet.

First of all. welcome to the site!

Second, wow, Liquid Ebony. Man, I haven't seen that stuff in years, but used to use it all the time on my black 1979 Suzuki GS 1000. The stuff worked pretty darn well back in the day, but we can show you newer and better stuff in most cases.
