When I clayed the tailgate, I had just returned from a trip to MD.  I'm assuming I picked up up a bunch of tar and/or dirt on one or two...or ALL of the roads I drove on to get there and back.  Because like I said....I clay once or twice per year and have never had this problem.

OD....I'm not on Mercury much, but ever since the milling and paving started last week, I've been avoiding it like the plague  :redneck:

I like the idea of hitting those difficult spots with a cleaner during my wash cycle....might try some PB's Bug Squash.  Might make things go a little easier when it comes time to clay and polish.

Thank you guys very much for the resonses....always TONS of help and great info.  Luckily, I've got Old Dogg as a neighbor if I run into too much trouble.

What would be the appropriate Lake Country pad for an AIO?  D151 does have correction ability, and I'd like to take advantage of that.  I don't have a new Meguiar's polishing pad, and the Lake Country pads are ~$4 less per pad?

RR, is the M20 still on the table?

I quoted myself incorrectly, the megs AIO that I have is not M20....sorry to get you all pumped up.   :)

Any ideas on the pads guys?

My "go to" pad for most minor correction work is the White LC CCS. I then finish with the Black / Grey pad. Need something a bit more aggressive? The Orange pad works quite nicely.

Thank you!  Sounds like I may go with the orange.  I'd like to use the correction abilities of D151 best I can.

I would not do that if I were you.  The orange pad is going to dull the finish...the you would need a green or white to polish that out.

Your best bet is going to be white or black.grey if you are using an AIO.

How does a white pad compare to an 8006?

if the 8006 is the yellow pad it is about the same.

That's the one.  Thank you for catching me on that.  The way I was reading the description, the orange seemed to be more like that.  White it is!  :)

X2 on this one. I'd never use Orange with an AIO. Now, if I was using something like M105 or M205, that's another story. And that would only be for some serious correction work.

Yep the orange pad adds at least 2 more steps to any process then it would make more sense to just use M205 and a white pad to keep it moving.
X3 on the white then gray with an AIO if the gray alone was not enough.
I like to finish with a blue or red pad.

Too many pad choices, eh, lol.  Maybe I'll just spend the extra couple of bucks, get an 8006 and be done with it.
