How I spent my Weekend.
« on: July 26, 2008, 02:41:46 PM »
This is what is occupying mine.

2004 Escalade.  Never been waxed.  Washed weekly at the Lazerwash, and once a month or so at the local tunnel.

The front is covered in overspray.  fun fun fun.

Here are a couple of shots of the hood.  I'll be back with a complete set of pictures when done, which will be tomorrow.  I have several products I am going to be playing around with, and I want to document their results, so this will take a little longer ..   plus I am older and slower than I used to be.

My son and I spent most of the day riding our ATV's.

Same thing tomorrow... with some fishing mixed in for a change of pace!  ;D

Right now, I'm getting the campfire ready for tonight.

Sounds like you are having more fun than I am Boss..

Here is a shot after the first step.  (after claying)

Right side done with Meg's #83, a green edge pad and the DeWalt @ 1600

Left side done with a sample of Tropi-care's new Swirl cutter plus, same type pad and speed.

wipe down with 50/50 Iso/Water

i am almost giddy waiting for more!!

I will great to get some insight on the Tropi-care stuff.   Based on what you have seen so far can you confirm that Tropi-care is a chem guys product or is this something all together new?

Thanks for visiting the Cafe, come back often.  There's always something new!

Yea gip, I'm having more fun, but you are accomplishing more. Nice work!

It's nice to see that someone else isn't afraid to turn up the dial on the ole rotary.

How do you like the Tropi-Care SCP? Looks the same in the picture, but how did it perform getting to that point in comparison to the DACP?

I like it so far.   Seems to be pretty close to the same cut.  It works an awful lot like Menzerna SIP.  Looks a lot like it also.

I could not tell an appreciable difference between the two in the area of results.  I will be interested to see how the Tropi-care works on a harder clear.

Steve only gave me a two ounce sample, so I may have to buy some to play with it some more.

It probably is, but I don't know for sure.   I am not a big fan of the Tropi-care swirl cutter, it just doesn't have enough bite for me..  but so far I like this Swirl cutter Plus.  Obviously need to play with it some more, but so far so good.

I agree. That will tell you the quality, and the work time of the abrasives. I'll be REALLY surprised if it's in the same class as the Menzerna, but I'll wait to hear from you, as I value and trust your opinion.

Keep us posted.

I will be suprised if it is also.  I have a BWM coming up in two weeks, so that will give it a good test.

Here are some final pics.

Ended up by using #80 on the whole truck, Menzerna PO106FF then #21 2.0.

there is a lot of sheet metal on these things ..  I am off to drink a few beers and watch the Drag races on ESPN2.
