does anyone hace any good tips on getting dog hair out of seats and carpet? the lint roller usually stinks, and doesnt really do anything for the newer GM trucks. had a carpet yesterday that looked like the carpet was made out of a wig, took all flippin day.

There are carpet combs that work really well.   First pass, I would use the rubber ones, then follow that with a shop vac, then another pass useing the nylon carpet brush and it will get the rest of what is there.

Thanks for visiting the Cafe, come back often.  There's always something new!

Those rubber brushes work surprisingly well.

Best thing I've used is duct tape.  I wrap it around my hand sticky side out.  Takes a while and a ton of tape but it gets the job done.  And is a lot cheaper than those lint rollers.

One thing that does help me on the bigger ones is kinda a hodge podge.  I have one of those household vac attachments that uses the suction to turn a rotary brush.  Found that it also fit my shop vac.  Turned out to work fairly well on dog hair.

I just put on rubber gloves and pull all of the hair to one area and then sweep it up with a vacuum.  This way works awesome for me.

x2. I have one of these as well, works great. Not sure if it can be bought by itself though.... came with a vacuum.

This is exactly how I typically cross this bridge too...

As a little hint, a *very* light mist of water on the latex glove (which is typically what I wear when I'm in a vehicle working -- nothing like sticking your hand in a place where it's *really* dirty and you *really* don't know what it is that you just slathered your hand in! LOL!) really helps keep the hair coming out of the fiber of the carpet or fabric.

Funny, I was about to ask if anyone knew of a good portable vacuum that charged off 12v. I've been thinking of trying one of those Pledge dog hair things. I'll give it a shot and see how it goes.

New car is already full of hair and the dog hasn't been in it yet. Oh the joy...

I should've added that -- as a dog owner myself (short/dark-haired full-blood mutt), I also use the rubber glove trick on my stairs to really remove the 'stuck in' black hair from Lexi Lynn (that's right... my dog has a stripper name  LOL!)

I'll have to try the rubber glove. Never heard of that. Our dog has never been anywhere close to geting in my truck, but I find hair in there all the time.
