Anyone used Chemical Guy's 5050 or Jet Seal
« on: July 06, 2009, 05:39:44 PM »
I was thinking about getting some chemical guy's 5050 and Jet Seal but I'm not sure if they are worth the price. I was also thinking about either Natty's Red or maybe Natty's Blue or even EX-P. I'd love to get them all but I don't have that type of money. Any thoughts on this?

I have 5050.  I liked it a lot, however, if I was to do it again, I'd just get Wet Obsession.  Wet Obsession is still my favorite wax.  I have a lot to try yet in my collection though as well.  I've only used the Natty's Blue but I was pretty impressed with it.  It's a hard wax to beat for the price.

X2 on the WO.

As for Jet Seal, its pretty pricey, I have a brand new bottle and have yet to try it...to be honest, I prefer to ease of use of OptiSeal...but then again, I have yet to try the JetSeal.  I hear its great stuff.   :dunno: :dunno:

Great news is, with the products you have asked about, hard to go wrong with any of them.  They're all pretty darn good.   Just remember the proper prep is the key to any detail.

you can put lipstick on a pig....well you can put nice wax on a pig too.

I have a customer that swears by 5050, so I use it on his car all the time.   I have tried it on several others, but I always end up going with something else, like #16 or Wet Obsession.

Any of you used Jet Seal?

I was looking at this kit http://www.chemicalguys.com/Mobile_Detailing_Kits_p/hol_101.htm

It's a pretty good deal so I was thinking about getting it, but now I'm not too sure.

I saw your thread over on autopia.  Curious how some of the guys over there answer your question.

Lol that was freaky, that was only like 1 minute ago. I'm just posting around to get all different types of opinions, considering that it is a lot of money for just a wax.

Heh.  Good timing I guess.  I jump over there when I'm trying to kill a few minutes and browse whatever threads are on the main page.

Quick Question: what are your guys favorite sealants? I was thinking of getting Jet Seal if I got CG 5050 as they're in a combo package, but is Jet Seal worth spending the money on, or could I put CG 5050 on top of something cheaper like NXT and not even tell the difference if it was on top of Jet Seal?

For some reason I feel like I have said this already... :slow:  but I have it, and haven't used it.

Having said that, I really like the ease of use of Opti-Seal, I love the durablity of EX-P.  They are both great products.

jsut remember, a Sealer is going to give you a little different look than an wax.

EX-P can be topped in less than an hour...

For the price, JetSeal better be damn good.  As for the 5050, lots of folks love it, but WO is great product.

Another vote for Opti Seal.  Hard to beat the ease and it's been lasting forever on my Expedition.  we've had constant rain this year so far and it's held uip for well over 3 months.  It's still holding up nicely.  I haven't even had a chance to wash my car in 3 weeks.  Driving me nuts.
