Post by: okiefordman on March 06, 2012, 06:08:15 PM
Got a melted chocolate chip in the fabric on my seat,    what is the best way to get that out.

1 tbs enzyme detergent > 2 cups of water > let stand for 20 min. > rinse thoroughly. From wife's laundry cleaning tips.

You may have need a wet vac to help control the h2o and remove extra water.

Also may start by freezing and a light scrape to get big chunks out first.

Thanks for the help.  Would the Folex cause the seat fabric to fade?  Also don't want too much water on there.

Folex is a great over the counter stain remover and will work fine.  It is oderless, foamless, and will leave no residue.

Agreed.  I buy Folex by the gallon from my local Lowes.

I just got some of this due to this thread.  I have been using Zep to date.
That is a ram the stain through the carpet, type carpet cleaner.
Need to use the spot bot after the fact to pull the stain and product back through the carpet.

See what happens when I need it.  thanks for the referral on it.

Folex is great ..   but threads like this are exactly why this old, fat man no longer does interiors ..

My wife and /or daughter does them when necessary.  :nana:

And I thought I was the only one who hated doing interiors!

I hate doing them.  I will vacuum and pick up trash, but now that my daughter is old enough to help me, she does a lot of that stuff.  IF she can't help me, my wife does .. The wifey did the entire interior on suburban I did last week, including the leather seats.  I simply did the floor mats, and a little spot stain work that she couldn't get to behave.   My daughter did the wheels, running boards, wheel wells, etc.   I just did the paint work, removed a couple of dents, fixed a broken door handle, and made it shine.

It makes it much easier for me, especially those huge SUV's.

Wow, I wish I could get somebody interested in helping me. My son pretty much just watched and / or maybe wiped off the LSP when I did his car last weekend. Shrugs.  :dunno:

My wife helps because she enjoys it ..  I pay my daughter to help on customers cars.  I have her and my son help on the family vehicles for free, although I do pay my son a little to keep him interested.

I am hoping my daughter will be able to help me a lot this summer.

I can't wait until my sons are old enough to help out around the house.  My oldest is almost 6.  He's getting there but still has a way to go before he'll be efficient.  It's hard on him now b/c he know's how OCD I am and is scared to touch anything  :redneck:

Can't be any worse than the Irish Catholic way I was raised.  Dad would tell me to clean the basement or the shed.  When he checked it, if it was not right, he would only tell me "it's wrong, do it again" and walk away.
Come to think of it, this might be were I caught the OCD bug at ?   :redneck:
