My preferred methodology on door jambs is to drink heavily EARLY in the detail so that I have my own 'personal' sprayer.   :red:

Does that give you the famous "new door jamb smell?" Then again, don't answer that.

Really... the only thing that you have to remember is that it *will* strip wax.   :hammer:

Okay... really...

I'll typically utilize a high-vol sprayer and Poorboy's Spray & Wipe in the jambs - unless they are absolutely HORRIBLE.  In that instance, I keep a spray bottle of wash solution (high vol head again) and will take care of those areas in that fashion...

S&W is my preferred method though... Since Boss introduced me to this stuff many years ago, I've not put it down and continue to buy it by the gallon (frequently)... it's just a great chemical.

Anyone else having issues with chemical heads and wheel brightner?

Either I got a bad bach of spray heads or this stuff is too powerful even 8:1 for the chemical resistant heads.

I get to do 3 wheels then the head won't spray...grab another one, same thing.

The spray heads are chemical resistant not chemical proof  :slam: :D
They will need to be rinsed with plain soap and water after each use if you want to get more than a few uses out of them....

I leave my heads in on the Megs APC+ and never had an issue with that, I guess megs wheel brighterner is just too much for them.  Seriously, I cannot do 4 wheels on my truck, I can can get about 3 wheels done, then head is dead and it won't spray anymore.

the APC can stay on for years, but the WB is way too strong for the Viton seals

Does it harm the pickup tube or just the seals inside?

you pull the trigger and nothing happens, so what ever that part is, it destroys.

I guess that could be any part of it.  I imagine if it's the tub ethough you could just take the had off and visually inspect the tube.  It is clear.  I was asking because if it's harmful to the pickup tube I was going to remove the heads even before I use them and just cap the bottles.  If it's only internally in the spray head then I can leave the head on and just remove and clean thorougly after use and put it back on.

actually it is the inside seal. the grey chemical ones have a patented Viton seal which is supposed to be the most chemical resistant seal

I got the new Chem Heads yesterday from ADS, they are much different than the Chem heads I got at wash solutions.

We'll see how they work on Sunday

That's exactly what I do - remove them after each use. Next, I screw them onto a bottle of clean water and spray until I think I've got everything out, then I remove the head, squeeze the trigger a few times until all of the water comes out, then set it aside until next time. This usually buys me a few more uses. By the way, I only do this for Wheel Brightener.

I too have the same problem. Ruined like 4 heads, including the old chemical resistant ones.

Those new ones look spiffy...

*Side note, I think WB is acidic, where as APC is basic... thus the different issues with the heads. APC doesn't hurt mine at all.

well I killed one of the new heads, but I did get all 4 wheels done...it died shortly after.  I mess around with it some so I am testing a second to see what happens if I leave it over night.

it really doesn't matter how fancy they make them look, it's the inside seal that the product kills ..the Viton is the best out there but again still needs to be cleaned after each use ... mine last months with cleaning
