How my OCD probably saved my engine.
« on: February 27, 2009, 11:35:06 PM »
So I did some pretty rough off roading last weekend.  Good and dusty but let it sit in the drive all week.  Thursday was a nice day and decided to give her a clean.  Hadn't been cleaned in 2 months.  In warmer weather she's washed at least twice/week.
I got to thinking that I hadn't detailed the engine bay since before December so thought I'd knock it out real quick.
Popped the hood only to quickly discover that my cold air intake filter had popped off the inlet tube and the thing was sucking in raw unfiltered air.  If I was a normal person I probably wouldn't have looked under there till the next oil change.    yea OCD!

Had a very active winter this year.  spent about 13 days skiing with another 4-5 in two weeks, quadding, offroading, pheasant/dove/quail seasons.  Add to that alone with a 4 year old boy doing most of that stuff for the first time.  lol

Ah, but that's the priceless part! I'm still doing things with a 16 year old son - and loving every moment of it. Won't be much longer though I recon ...

might get worse now.  LOL

GF called today to help her go pick up her new little trailer and 2009 Polaris Trail Boss 330.

Guess she finally got tired of riding in the back seat of my Polaris Sportsman 400.
