Business cards
« on: January 26, 2009, 02:18:25 PM »

That is a scan of my current card. I'm starting to run a little low on cards, and need to reorder soon. What do you guys think of these? Is there anything that you would change?

Thanks for the input.

the only thing I'd add under the Wash Wax Polish  is Shampoo   ..there's good money to be made on interior cleaning

I'd like to see it stand out a bit more.  It's seems kind of "blah."

That'd be perfect!   :biglaugh:

I should add that I don't mean make it busy, cluttered, over the top.  I like simple but attractive.  Even if it's just some drop shadow to the fonts, maybe beveled/embossed main title.  Little things that keep the same design but clean it up a little and make it more appealing to the eye.  So when a potential customer looks at it they're impressed right from the start.  And I think certain fonts go a long way.  I'm a big fan of Times New Roman.  I think it's very classy without eing over the top.  That's just me though.

If you are going to change anything I would change the back ground to gloss black and change the writing to a highly visible color like red or silver. There is a towing company in town that hands out cards like that and I can alway spot his cards at a distance because they are so distinctive from everyone elses cards.
Good enough never is

it can be done without an extractor ...yes it's a lot more work but scrubbing with a brush and a good vacuum will do a nice job

Interior sounds better first.  I'm just disagreeing with you for the sake of disagreeing with you though.   :taz:

Hope you don't mind.  I find I get my point across better if I can show it.  I suck at explaining things.  I kept it just like you had it but changed the fonts and the style of the fonts.  Also added a very simple background which actually happens to be the reflection of the sun off of the hood of your truck.

I know a business card has limited space, but it would be kind of neat to show just what kind of work you can do. The back of the card might be a great place for a before and after of one of your previous transformations. Just a thought...

I have some ideas on how to clean up the business card - by eliminating some duplicate type and rearranging some of the other type - but need a file I can work with on the Mac computer.

I like the black background and the diamond with the shine - but the card is very busy I would like so make it simpler and still get the message across - more is not always better.

p.s. I teach graphic communications at the university level.

On a side bar Robby32, we do need a logo for the Cafe...we kind of have a contest going right now.  Here is the topic...  http://www.thedetailerscafe.com/smf/index.php?topic=319.0   We have a member who is very talented (ESF) and posted up several that we all like but it would be good to see other ideas.

Feel free to explore the space.   :red:
