I ordered the Makita from that Amazon link I posted.  Scheduled for delivery on Monday which is awesome since I ordered it today.  It's being shipped from within the state.  If it was coming Fed Ex it would be here tomorrow.  UPS doesn't deliver on Saturdays.  Bastards.

I paid 220 for the Dewalt with a backing plate, Megs handle and 3 pads. Just wondering if I should take it back.

Not if you like it.  Obviously.  The Makita looks like it comes with a backing plate of some sort, no idea how big but I have one on the way anyway, a side handle, the bag and a wool compounding pad and a polishing pad.  But I have all the pads I need for it already.  The backing plate I ordered for it was $20 so that puts me at $200.  It sounds like they're both good machines.  If you like the Dewalt, keep it.

I like the Makita -- having used the Dewalt, the thing that kept me reaching for the Makita was the looped handle.  Some love it... some hate it.  I love it.

It's been spinning now for 4+ years, I guess.  Strong as a horse and never a single problem...

Geez, you're like a woman.  You need to be told what to do and then you'll probably do what you want anyway.   :bat:
