Need a new mattress...
« on: January 18, 2009, 10:12:57 PM »
Yes this is WAY off topic for the site.

We need a new mattress for the domicile.

We are torn by the "memory foam" or the sleep number thing but geez those are way expensive.  So we are looking the memory foam brands at Costco.

NovaFoam is their brand I think.

Thanks for visiting the Cafe, come back often.  There's always something new!

Had a cousin that just bought a new memory foam mattress. He said he debated between the two but the deciding factor was that the sleep number has a class action law suit against them because the inside of the mattress develops mold.

I hear it gets really warm sleeping on the foam ..not bad for winter but what about summer ... I know a few people with the sleep number and they love it, but I'm also not interested in paying that much for a bed

I've heard memory foam gets stiff when it's cold. Since I like it cold at night it wouldn't work for me.

We have a sleep number bed.  We like it a lot.

Our model has the air mattress plus a foam top. It is nice. It is warm in the winter but is also a bit warm in the summer.  I think the recent models have made changes to improve breathing so it does not sleep so hot.
