Dead F150
« on: November 10, 2008, 08:49:07 AM »
Well... My truck is dead.

My step-dad drove it to my wedding with a Keg in the back. I got married in Acton, TX (which is in the boonies.) Lots of curvy roads. He didn't strap the keg down very well. Took a curve a little quickly, and the keg moved. So he decided to turn around and see what the deal was - and take the steering wheel with his eyes.

Flipped it in the ditch. Busted the rear axle, caved the roof and the front end is all sorts of torn up. I don't have any pictures because I haven't been to see it yet other than after the wedding (was a little busy.)

Anyway, take a moment of silence for my truck if you would. Here's a good picture to remember it by.

Sorry to hear about the truck, but at least you survived getting married. As you know, I have a soft spot for regular cab / short box 4x4's. Hopefully your insurance company will notice what fine shape it was in before the keg. By the way, is your step-dad OK?

I have plenty of good "before" pictures with dates, so that's good. Hopefully I come out close to even. Luckily it was his insurance - I don't need any more incidents.

He made it out without a scratch. Gotta give it to Ford for making a tough truck.

I'm sure it can be buffed out.  Have you tried #105 yet.  Amazing product. :hs: <--Maybe this little guy can help.  Look at him go.

Congrats on the wedding.

Well, he was going about 10 over in an area where you should be going about 10 under. When the keg tipped, he looked back and somehow turned the wheel in the direction of where he decided to look, which happened to be a ditch.

Not the smartest move, but he's ok, so that's good.

Sorry to hear about the truck, but glad to hear he made it out OK. We all have our moments of not being so smart sometimes.

We had lots of home-made wine so it wasn't all bad.

You never met my dad, JP. He was 140 lbs when he died and ate like fat albert.
