Tree sap
« on: October 27, 2008, 04:17:41 PM »
I live in the Woodlands, TX. The name of the city should be enough to tell you what type of environment it is. With this said tree sap is one of my worst enemies out here. My truck is garage kept most of the time but sap still manages to find its way down to my roof, windows, and paint. How the heck can I get it out? I've already tried claying, which works great assuming the sap isn't baked on from the Texas sun. Some of the sap comes off but typically a fairly thin layer stays which I cannot for the life of me get out. I have a few spots like that on my windows and one or two on my paint. It's driving me nuts!  :taz:

Help!

i used to live on the north side of houston years ago....spring/klein area....large pines ment sap and pollen....i use varosol on a terry rag, let it sit and soften and come off very easy...no ill effects on the paint....i am sure there is something "more correct" and some might try to steer you away, thats fine, but it is what i reach for and never had a problem....now live off the loop in sw side of houston in bellaire/meyerland area, pine tree problem solved....pretty much just oaks over here
