Hopefully they get that wheel straightened out the right way this time.  I think that 4Runner needs a set of
Method wheels and some 35s.  Just sayin.

I took the offending wheel back out to our Wheel Reconditioning shop myself today and talked to the lady who runs the operation. I explained what happened and she asked to see the wheel. She was clearly disappointed at the quality of the workmanship. I offered to leave it with them for as long as they need it. This is definitely the last gasp for this wheel though.

In the mean time, I've been searching for a set of new wheels for the truck. Enkei no longer makes my wheel, but has something very similar to what I have:

https://enkei.com/shop/wheels/truck-suv/m6/

I found a vendor who has a pretty decent price on four of the above and just have to decide if I'm going to bite the bullet. I think I'm going to wait to see what my existing wheel comes back looking like before I pull (or don't pull) the trigger.
Those look pretty sharp! Best of luck with the shop this time around, fingers crossed it will come back and make you smile.

Got the wheel back from MB yesterday. No dice. They applied even more crap clearcoat. It really needs to get the face re-machined and I found a shop locally that supposedly can do it. I'll take it out to them for a quote next week. Not happy.

No real surprise there.  They couldn’t do it right the first time so it’s expected that they screw it up again.  That’s a damn shame though.  Hopefully the next option works out.

Consider me unsubscribed.  This is not how you treat friends!

Haha

Kidding aside.  Tom, I assume they’re the ones pictures earlier that you were considering?  You’re going to make us weight til the tires are mounted?  Any chance there are Methods in there and those are your original boxes for the current wheels and there are an aggressive set of ATs on the way?

Still waiting for the tires. As for what's in the boxes, I'll try to post up some pics tomorrow. Sorry, not Methods.  :dunno:

Haha I figured they weren’t methods.  Just like I assume the tires won’t be 35” aggressive ATs.  Haha.  What I do know is that they’ll have a real clean look to them.  Look forward to seeing them.

Me too, except the dealership Service Manager informed me today that the company they placed my tire order with had, um, "misplaced" my order. Could be several more weeks before the tires arrive. The saga continues.  :dope:

Could be worse.  I had an entire vehicle misplaced when I had my 2011 Mustang special ordered.  They said “so it was built but now we can’t find it anywhere.”

Ohhhh, I really like those!! What a pain around those tires, hopefully they find them quickly.

Are you swapping to winter soon anyway?
