Last month everybody was ready to nominate an avowed Socialist to run for President. Now they complain about too much government intervention and control. What a difference a month makes.  :om:

Politics isn't something we've ever talked about here, which is awesome.    But that said and this is the only thing you will get out of me on this topic b/c I think everyone that knows me from here knows how I vote.  It may actually surprise some of you how I vote and NOW being elected for a very small role, I have some new visibility in to things and opinions.

But if this is the BEST the Demo's can drag out as their front runner, DJT should landside this thing pending there isn't some massive voter fraud that the dems are cooking up b.c there is no way Biden can beat DJT.

Rant over.

It's baffling.  But it's scary to think Biden is a possibility.

This guy was angry!  They have a queue set up outside because of the customer limit allowed in.  Store was dead and woman didn't want to walk around so she tried to jump the queue.  He made her go out and walk around.  He was a nice guy to us but he was ripping her apart when he talked to us.  All of the Giant super markets have guards now.

Is it that bad ??

Not to rip into you, I get the idea that you are more rural where you are at vs JP or myself.

With that as the basis, we do not have this around the metro area here ( yet ? ).
They just put in the counting of people EG: in the HD the other week.  Before that it was a free for all ( could enter through the contractor exit ).

Our super markets are not this bad, but they have done the directions on the floor and counting people.

We are currently 4th in the country in the amount of cases.  Our governor is an idiot.  Unfortunately we need to cater to the assholes that can't take things serious and play nice with others.  So you have to make rules for them that everyone has to follow.  You shouldn't need all of these rules but if you do t make rules, then the inconsiderate morons that feel rules don't apply to them won't follow them and you can't enforce them.  In our part of the state we are very close to New York and New Jersey.  I am also located in the Poconos mountains region which is where a lot of those out of state people have second homes.  There is a lot of commuters in our county and neighboring counties.  Those neighboring counties are leading the count in our state with Covid19 cases.  My specific county actually isn't bad but all of the surrounding counties are pretty bad.

Everything our supermarket is doing is now mandated.  One way isles, number of customers at a time, some kind of face covering inside any public building/business or you will be turned away at the door.  People have been fined for just being out driving around.  A woman was stopped for something unrelated like a taillight or headlight and issued a citation.  Walmarts and Targets are blocking sections of the store that are deemed non-essential goods.  Gun stores are allowing customers by appointment only and you have to know what you want before you go.  No browsing.  Liquor stores are closed however starting sometimes this week they are reopening for curbside pick up.

My town has 13 positive cases.

Pennsylvania also just extended the stay at home order until May 8.  Originally April, 30.

In my county, the Sheriffs have been instructed not to interact with anyone, including traffic stops, moving violations etc.  They are only supposed to engaged on any domestic issue etc.  You have to be going 10 over to get stopped right now.

My county only has 9 confirmed cases and 1 death.  There are only 66k people in this county....next county over is Fort Worth (Tarrant Co), it has over 2.7m people in it.    Only 90 cases being reported.

The more I read and hear through the cracks....its starting to sound more like a scam then anything else.

How is that no one is dying of cancer, heart attack etc all of a sudden and only COVID19?   Answer.   Money.   Hospitals get more money if they list CV19 as the cause of death and they get way more if a ventilator is used.

We have 64,000 people in our county which for what it's worth is 387 square miles.  Similar population to yours.  My understanding is that it's not as prevalent in warmer climates.

Any cop around here will tell you they won't stop you for anything less than 10 over the limit.

The messed up thing about the death count is, regardless of what you die from, they are being told to classify it as Covid19.  Even if you have Covid19 but get hit by a car they will file it under Covid19 death.  There's a lot of inflated numbers for the death count.  On the flip side, the number of reported people who have it is extremely low.  It only factors those confirmed, those tested.  It doesn't count the other people who live with you, that get quarantined with you, that likely have it but don't get tested.  I would bet the number of cases would be doubled if not tripled, possibly even quadrupled if everyone was tested.  When you factor those two sets of numbers, cases:deaths, the death rate would be way way lower.

Wait, you mean our politicians are lying to us? What's next, the press only pushing the news that Big Brother wants them to share?

I'm going to go way out on a limb here and make a prediction. Someday, many years from now, the truth about this mess will start to trickle out. And the amount of intrigue, dirty dealing, political espionage, covering of butt and double dealing will be utterly amazing.

So not sure I mentioned it but Cassie's sister works at the hospital.  All of her patients are Covid19 patients.  She now has a fever and sore throat.  She got tested.  She got her results yesterday and is negative. Though apparently that doesn't mean a whole lot since false negatives are common.  She can't return to work until she is fever free for 72 hours.

And something I find funny.  I don't know if anyone here has Verizon Wireless for their cell phone.  I do.  They sent me a text last month and just now.  Their way of helping is to give 15GB of additional data at no cost.  That's mighty helpful as I am stuck at home on wifi.

That's the scary thing about catching any kind of illness that gives you a fever, causes you to cough or sneeze these days. The first thing everyone thinks is that you've got COVID-19. Stella gives me the stink eye every time I sneeze these days. (Just allergies.) Hopefully, she's just got something "simple." Scary though.
