2014 Toyota Tacoma

Well boys and girls, the Taco turned 90,000 miles last week and I treated it to a quick detail. I'm experimenting with Optimum Gloss Coat and the truck again got a coat of it after polishing with Meguiar's M205 on a white LC pad with the Flex. (The last time I applied it was over a year ago.) What do you think?

Looks really, really good. I have no idea how you keep it that nice in that area!

Thanks! Truth be told, the underside doesn't look nearly as good.  :dunno:

That's impressive!  The entire truck just pops.

Just to throw this out there.  Not sure if I mentioned it.  But Steve (Poorboys World) is working on a ceramic.  Hoping to be out in Spring as they are currently testing it.  So far it looks very promising.

Coatings are all the rage right now....even Megs is releasing one post SEMA.    It would love to see with Steve comes up with.

I have been waiting, it was to be in testing in the spring of 2019.

There was still some conjecture floating around PB in 2015 about signing releases to get ( non ceramic ) coatings and they are not for the experience level of who he sold to; as a reason for not having one.
- How many on here have done many coatings that far back ?

When they were still in NY Pockets tried a non ceramic on his wheels and was less than impressed.
- Something along the lines of coatings are just expensive wax - paraphrased

At least Steve was able to skip over the Opti Gloss Coat ( OptiCoat ) dev work and go straight to ceramic.  I don't know how easy that is to do, without the learning curve on the 1st generations of coatings.

I hope he gets something out in Q1CY20 to try.
Steve

Some of us are just happy to read a Steve post and understand it.   LOL

My posts never make sense because I went to public school.
When I was in primary school the teachers went on strike which I think is why I am so messed up.  I never recovered from that stutter step.

 :funny:

Now try to image what it is like inside my head... :wow:

I'm experimenting with McKee's 37 SiO2 Coating. Heard some good things about it, so I snagged a kit to try on the Tacoma. What do you guys think? Personally, I'm liking it a lot.

Looks really nice a glossy. Looks like I've got some reading to do to prep for spring vehicle details. I haven't touched the X5 yet, as I figured I would let it ride for the winter.
