Garage “Reno’s”
« on: November 11, 2018, 06:19:43 PM »
Made some headway on the garage. Two walls painted, one wall half down.
Bought 3 4ft lights and I’ll probably grab another 3 once I get some more budget and through some other expenses.

Now I'm getting the bigger picture here.  Why in the world was that sectioned off in the first place.  What a stupid wall.  Haha.  And only one side had the finished floor minus that strip along the wall where you removed the storage.  The things people do... Strange.

I think the previous guy had a little wood working shop set up on the single door side. They loved for everything to have its on special area.

Looking good!  How's the paint covering?

There is dust everywhere, I was going to cover a bunch of stuff, but the FIL wanted to help and started sanding spackle while I was working. All well, I’ll get it all cleaned up.

Roof seems to take two heavy coats after a light first coat to cover up the black. I didn’t cheap out on the paint and I think it paid off.

Off to grab a couple wall mount cabinets to try and get installed tonight.

More stuff done tonight. Put up a couple of signs just because. Got the detail supply cabinet back in place and man is it bare!

Small things put back up like the paper towel dispenser, air hose reel and power cord reel.

Hope to get the other two light up and then see how much light I have. I’m itching to add more lights, but the wife is about to cut my balls off and take away the bank card

That's cool, the house has a central vac.  Those are becoming popular again.
- They were real big in the 70s around here, and then disappeared until after 2005.

I have to ask...  Are you not concerned with the sink in the garage temp wise ?
I did not put a hot and cold line into the garage due to winter temps.  I would have needed shut offs in the basement.

They don't make a frost free silcock for 2 water lines with a mixing valve. :dunno:

Honestly, I am a little concerned about bursting pipes, but then thought a sink had already been there for 13 years, so hoping I will be fine.

I do plan on keeping the garage above freezing. If I do shut off the heat, I'll probably throw a trouble light in the sink cabinet just to keep a tiny bit of heat in there.

Getting close to the point where I will be done for the next little while. Still have some more painting in one corner and a good cleaning to get rid of as much dust as I can. I’ll get a towel rack and backsplash for the sink in this week.

The floor is going to have to wait. I had to give my wallet CPR after buying the motor swap parts and some stuff for the house.

Agreed.  I like it.  Had me staring at my garage in embarrassment.  It needs to be cleaned up a little and some more lights.
