I think it would be fine if you checked to see how much the door latch deflected when you stood on the step. Lighter people may be fine, but I don't think I would want to hop on it at 200+lbs.

I've done some sketch stuff to reach things but I don't know about that one since I weigh over half of the rated capacity and only having one point of contact with your arms full of stuff.

That has this is going to hurt a lot written all over it.  :uugly:

The note about "slam door latch must withstand force of 2500 pounds" they do not specify which way the force is.
- There is no specification on which way that force is measured.

The Ford front tow hooks have a heavy rating to them, for pulling.
Try putting a floor jack on that tow hook and pick up the front of the truck.
- Just do not be under it when the tin dog bone nut holder lets go..

Maybe JP's weight, but not for someone like me that is ~ 10% of the force...

Tin dog bone nut holder... Is that an official term?

That was the F150OL short cut name for it decade and a half ago.
As posted above, it looked like one so it was called one, based on the 99-03 MY body style F150

You can see why I was curious of the direction of the force claim from the URL in the OP.

Grade 10.2 M12 bolt holding the hook in the keyhole in the frame could hold 4K+ pulled straight.
Jack under the front lip of the tow hook, resisting that pressed nut retainer; things could end very bad.

The SD tow hooks were a different story; especially when rusted into place for years.
- Not that I would try this at home..

Nut retainer, yes it is called 3 threaded holes in the hooks... :redneck:
