so what is the verdict?

I feel like there are things that we must do that requires hover time which takes it toll on fly time.

I knobdicked around with a few settings tonight to get a few night shots of our lights and before you knew it, I was down 30% battery life.   A little frustrating.

JP
So where are these night shots?  I want to find a cool spot to take night shots at but it means I have to go somewhere.  I may try the ski resort.  I just know it's frowned upon so maybe if I can keep a distance.  Opening day was today.  I really wanted to get a shot of them making snow but I was busy and when I wasn't, the weather just didn't hold up.

I really like the first shot with the sky still sort of in twilight.  Very cool.  I also like the simplicity of your decorations.  So clean looking.  It looks really good.  The aerials really show the darkness of your neighborhood.  No street lights... Just the way I like it.

The ski resort is 2.7 miles away.  I was thinking of going to try and get some shots this evening.  I wonder if I have an ND filter on if I can do a long enough exposure to blur the people out of the picture.

The first shot was not taken with the drone...my phone.    We do have street lights but only at road intersections..so there are not that many, only like 20 total.

I apparently suck at night photos.  I was having trouble manually focusing.  Couldn't figure out how to do it. I finally figured it out after I went home and tried to get pictures of our lights.  Still failed miserably.  Worse than the ski resort actually.  Haha.  Oh well.

Funny story though that ended in a new warning.  Haha.  So I park where I'm not supposed to be, so I can fly where I'm not supposed to fly.  It's pitch freaking dark where I'm at, in a partial clearing along the side of the road.  I didn't realize I was near the line where the grass was no longer cut.  Brought it down a little too fast in to 4' tall grass/weeds.  Flipped right over and landed upside down.  Walked over to get it, apparently the ground wasn't very hard and I sank ankle deep in to the slop.  I grabbed the drone, jumped in the truck, pulled back on to the road, saw headlights behind me so I floor it to get up to speed and then some.  I'm gone.  I pull over to the side to let the car pass so I can bust a U turn.  It's a state trooper.  He apparently didnt care though.

Everything just always looks noise or blurry to me.  Never nice and sharp like everyone else's I see.

A few more from this morning.
