To be fair, none of my crashes have cost me any money yet.  Even this one, I went back out the next day and somehow managed to find the landing gear leg that broke off.  I know welded it back on yet again.  It's crooked but it's on.  Apparently replacement landing gear is next to impossible to find.  I recalibrated everything.  I'm going to recalibrate the gimbal again though.  All I did was recenter it.  I have had to replace props but I used the extras that came with the kit.

For a while I hadn't really flew the drone.  Lately.  I've been trying to get it out more often.  Probably because I love autumn.  Some of you have seen some of the pics on Facebook.  Here are a few from today and some of my favorites from lately.

Today I had it out farther than I have yet.  There is a view of Blue Mountain from my front yard.  About a third of the way out is Stoney Ridge.  I usually fly put to the ridge, hover around a bit and take pictures.  I've only attempted Blue Mountain once.  Half way up I chickened out and brought it back fearing battery life and just plain fear of never seeing it again.  Haha.  Today I made it to the top.  Set up for a picture and got a battery warning and it started returning home.  Scared the crap out of me.  Haha. It did however land in the exact spot I took off from.

Today:

A few more.  I didn't get much time to set up anything because I went Facebook live so I stopped taking pictures.

I am out flying right now, my controller was sent in for repair....it was sent back and they sent me a shit job so it went back via UPS only 1 hour of receiving repair,

I hope to get my controller back in the next 10 days,

I really want the new Mavic 2 Pro.  The photos I've seen have been noticeably better.  It also does all of the gimmicky active track stuff much better.

Does anyone know how to download Facebook Live videos to a mobile device.  I wanted to download them I took with all the fog.  Facebook downgrades the crap out of everything.  You can only stream live in 720p but it looks more like standard definition when streaming.  Was hoping I could download an HD version and reupload it elsewhere.  None of the methods seem to be working.  Thinking out loud here but I should check the SD card for a recorded copy.

The controller wasn't holding a charge.  It would drain after 2 days.  So sent it in then they sent it back and the screen mount was bent to hell so I had to send it back again.  Totally their error.

My latest idea is to try to make it to the top of that stoney ridge, appropriately named Stoney Ridge, from the picture above.  I'm trying to figure out to get there without trespassing on anyone's property.  I also don't know how accessible it will be once I get near it.

I told you my buddy flies 5-8 miles away all the time...hell he flew almost 10 miles away from his cruise ship in Greece.

Is it modded?  I was screwing around before I flew out to the top of the mountain so I wasn't on a full charge but I don't think I would have had much longer.  I could probably make the 4 miles but would have to turn around and head back right away.  The too of the mountain was just under 2 miles.

The main reason I want boots on the ground of that ridge is just for cinematic reasons.  I think I could get some cool footage as I approach it while standing on it.  I'm getting the itch to get some video and edit it together.
