2014 oh crap detail.
« on: July 02, 2017, 10:12:50 PM »
Well. What started out as a simple wash turned out to be a mild full detail on this 2014 Acura MDX. Process was: clay with Meg's blue and Meg's #34. Then a red lake VC pad using Poorboy's Black Hole....topped with Optimum Spray Wax. Tires and Wells got Meg's Hyper Dressing. The reason I had to take this easy way out fix was bc darn near all of my pads have fallen apart in the bin they were stored in. So I will be buying all pads soon. So here are some reflecto shots and some with the sun gun.

That last photo was my pre trash bag full of old pads that have totally disintegrated.  Crap, that is going to be expensive.

Car looks great!  But the pads... No respect for the pads.  Shame on you.

Took them one by one out of the bin they were in and they just fell apart.   Have no idea how that happens.   But it is going to be expensive

I have found this to be they are not dry when completely sealed up in a bag / bin.

Might be water, might be product, might even have been humidity got into them and they did not dry out ??

When I take a new pad out of a bag, I cut the bag open nice and when they are dry I put them back in the bag ( end open ) and put them in a mini plastic milk crate ( no top, vented sides ) and in the cabinet.
- This is after drying them on the Velcro on the bottom of the shelves.

This is just what I have found over the years with pads that look the same as those after taking them out of a sealed bag.

I have the same issue with older pads.  they eventually just disintegrate.

Looks like it turned out great!

I had to toss some of my older pads last month when I went through the stash.
