I dunno.....

Is it my imagination or is that a strap on the upper right hand side of the backrest ?
- If it is, explains why it fell over on the right side...

Ignore that.  I used a strap once to pull a pallet off a truck that was too deep.  I couldn't get it unwedged so I cut it and left it.  Had nothing to do with this.  Haha

A fork lift designed for use only on hard surfaces being used on dirt. What could possibly go wrong?

Yanknow, we got quite a few laughs from this but it was anything but fun.  The boss took it well.  Especially well considering it wasn't even our forklift.

Hey now, don't judge.  I wasn't the one who took it down in to the dirt (actually more like sand.)  I didn't start the process which led to the finally outcome.  I probably do have to take responsibility for its final resting spot.  The other guys got it stuck.  It was a little tight and when trying to pull it out with a chain it lifted the forklift and turned it and away or went.  Apparently the counter balance wasn't as much as I had hoped.  Oops.  I managed to get it upright using floor and bottle jacks, cinder blocks, a dump truck and a chain.  All in all, I lost a couple hours of time, a little pride, a $25 hydraulic hose, and every fluid (motor oil, trans fluid, hydraulic fluid) in the machine.    But I get to tell the owner that we changed all the fluids in his forklift for him.  So there's that.

Well that doesn't look right...

What are the chances I can make it look like this again...

I started working on it at 6am, but only had a half hour before the rest of the guys came in and I had to head out.  I have one side of it about 90-95% straight.  Just ran out of time.  I need like 10 more minutes.

The inside rear tire let go of the tread on the interstate and then a couple seconds later the tire exploded.   What a glorious sound 95 lbs of pressure makes when it blows.  It bent the license plate (which you can see) and dented the diamond plate tool box mounted in front of the tires.

Let me tell you how fun it is sitting on the traffic side of the interstate at rush hour using a breaker bar and a pipe to remove 10 lug nuts and two wheels over a rusty hub.  While trying to get the inside wheel off I applied so much force I shook the truck and it shifted off of the jack and settled back down a couple inches lower to the ground.  Talk about a pants shitting moment.

You know how I do thing by now... 2 tires, separate times, within 10 miles of each other.

Oh and I got a few minutes this morning to work on the mud flap holder.  It at least resembles what it originally was now.
