Edge Quick clean up and wax
« on: October 27, 2015, 11:30:18 PM »
I have been seriously neglecting the Edge lately. You know life and such. It really hasn't been washed in at least two months and the Wife has been using it daily for her daily 80 mile round trip commute.

Tonight I went straight to the Coin-op to make use of the pressure washer and their brush. I pressure washed the paint and scrubbed all the textured plastic, front floor mats, wheels, and wheel wells. Then headed home.

At home, it was a two bucket followed by opti-clay and ONR QD as lube. Clay came away pretty clean, which surprised me to be honest.

I gave the paint a quick visual and touched up a couple of spots lightly with a 4" white pad and M101 on the PC. No real other correction though, that will wait till spring time.

A quick hit with Menzerna Power Lock as the LSP.

Outside of the windows quickly hit with ONR QD to get rid of the water spots.

Wheel wells hit with HD @ 4:1

Tomorrow is the interior.

Ohhhh look, pics!  :nana:

Good looking.  I think our EXPY has the same color white.   It looks really nice cleaned up.

I did about fall out of chair when you said, coin op brush.......

Thanks for visiting the Cafe, come back often.  There's always something new!

Turned out great.

The black plastic on the bottom you can scrub the snot out of it with APC, wash and OptiCoat them.

I did the plastic "nurf" plastic and the bottom of the rear bumper on the G6 and it still looks great.

I had to read that part twice to make sure I understood.   Inquiring minds want to know what the brush was used for...

It looks good though.   Those wheels look insane cleaned up.

Thanks guys.

I figured would need to clarify that the brush never touched the paint, it did however get used on all the textured plastics, wheels and floor mats.

Steve,

I have quite a bit of OC laying around and will hit the bottom plastics with it, but it needs to stop raining around here or I need the car to sit in the garage for a full day. The plastics will also need a better cleaning than the brush can at eh car wash can offer prior to OC.

Don't hit me too hard when you see pics of the interior, it ain't clean!

I was able to get the interior cleaned up tonight. It actually wasn't as bad as I thought. Pretty routine clean up.

Textured plastics hit with HD @ 3:1
Smooth plastics cleaned with ONR @ QD Ratio
Carpet Vacuumed
Floor mats wiped with a MF and Opti Power Clean @ 3:1

Nice.  now come do mine.

Well, we were just awarded an extension on the Houston Contract, so I may be back in your area early next year. You may get around to cleaning your up before then though!
