I agree, other Brands like fuel wheels just don't seem to do Bronze as well. It all comes down to personal taste of course, but I like this color.

Now I just have to get the 20's Powder Coated in the Bronze that I already bought. It will be a darker Bronze, but will still look sharp IMO. No rush on getting these done as I won't run them till spring and need to put some money into painting and doing work on the garage. It has a stupid BLACK painted roof and horrible lights.
The ceiling is black?

Don't judge the mess :uugly:

Black floor and black ceiling, with the absolute worst lights possible. I do plan on knocking down the wall between the single and double.

I'll admit that I haven't been following this thread....and i think this thread is a record for the most posts.

That said, those freaking wheels are G-D Gorgeous.   And those floors....dude, that is legit.   I am saving some money to get my floors done.   I am super poor right now.

Thanks for visiting the Cafe, come back often.  There's always something new!

Wow.  That's gloomy.  I don't think any amount of light would even help.  That black ceiling would have to go.  Do you like the floors or are you changing those as well?  They look ok.  Hard to tell from then pictures if they're quality and how nice they are.  Could look really sharp though if the rest of the garage comes together.  I'm going to stop looking at the pics though because all the clutter gives me anxiety.  Haha I get it though. No judgement.

That's OK JP, Mike keeps me company :nana:

It's been a pretty epic journey on this one and isn't over yet!

The Floor is OK, but was a DYI job. I will probably end up re-doing it as it only goes to that wood framing on the floor (he had a row of cabinets on there that I pulled). It's lower on the priority list, so maybe I'll get it re-done in the spring. I have to wait on the decision to knock out the wall or not. about 90% sure I will, but need to make sure there is no support in it for the roof.

Basic plan
- White ceiling
- light gray walls
- swap lights for 4ft LED lights

I hope to add a second set of lights at the door end sometime later when my electrician buddy comes to visit.

The ceiling I would just take it down and put up new fire rated drywall.
You are going to be priming the crap out of that black to get it to not bleed through the white paint.
- If you are removing the knockdown finish in the process, you will spend days trying to sand & durabond that level.

If you do go the remove the black and put up new drywall, adding the light on the other side of the I beam will be easy.  By the drop on the I beam, the floor joists / rafters above run over the beam not into it.
- I had the same problem in my garage before the remodel; but my remodel took away most of the garage ceiling.

I just put up 3 of the Lithonia single tube LED lights over the work, reloading and cleaning benches in the basement.  I used the 4' ones, they also come in 8'

They are amazing.

The floor color I would not be concerned about.  If you have the correcting lighting layout, about all you are changing is how well the bottom side of the rocker panels is illuminated.
- You can fix this with a halogen task light down low.

I think you can stop gap the lighting until you figure out the wall / ceiling with a few 4'   Lithonia on cord ends and temp in a female cord end were the gooseneck track is at.

Good news you have a heater by Trent's dad !!

Thanks for the tips Steve, much appreciated!

I’m going to give painting a try on part of the ceiling to see how it covers. I have a suspicion that you’re right though.

I’ll make a separate thread, but making progress on the garage. The wall should be coming down this weekend. I’ve never been this excited about house Reno’s before,

Engine builder sent me some pics while he was building. The motor is stuck in customs, I guess they didn’t like some of the paperwork. Getting it sorted out in the morning and should have the motor next week.

Looks like I got it all sorted out. 1 hour on the phone with the customs broker.

It's held in the Detroit area, so I probably won't see it now till the end of next week.

Pretty close. Today I pulled all the exhaust, tranny housing bolts, Torque converter bolts, starter, motor mount bolts.

A couple checks and seeing if I have to pull more wiring harness before I pluck the motor.
