What is this auto lock mechanism you speak of?

A kit that adds a power lock actuator to the tailgate, so whenever you lock or unlock the doors, the tailgate does the same.

Mine is a Pace.  Truck shop installed it for free when they put my powerboards on.  I couldn't live without it, especially with the wife using the truck a lot.

Well there ya go.  It'll fit.  I don't know how much I like the placement behind the logo like that.  What are the specs on those LEDs? I'm going to guess 3 watts each?

I hacked my grille apart with a dremel.  Haha.  It sticks out a bit but I'm pretty happy with it.  I had a picture in my phone, but that was two phones ago.  Haha.  I'll have to take another tomorrow.

Cool, post a pic of what you did, I'm curios.

You can raise or lower the bar on the supports, you just have to drill your own hole instead of using existing. With my grill (which I don't like, but won't have $$$ to replace anytime soon), I can place the light bar so that it won't be blocked by the logo or much of the grill at all.

I'm just in no rush to install as I am rarely out of the city these days and won't use it much.

I also bought a auto lock mech for the tailgate. I had to have one after I saw Doug's. I'm waiting for my primary wire to show up and I'll run the bed light wires and auto lock wires at the same time.

Nice.  can't wait to see the pictures.

I checked and they are 3 watt CREE LED's. The 42" bar I have is 240w combo. The 32" I see on CL is 180w (Dual row). They aren't Rigid standard by any means, but at $140-$160, I can afford it.

I'm guessing shipping is expensive for you but I was going to say take a look at www.Mudthrowers.com for good prices on Aurora light bars.  They use 5 watt cree in their bars and 10 watt in their cubes.  Jason is running the cubes.

Those look really, really nice! I am sure the 5w LED would make a difference. I only paid $150 for my 42" new in the box and couldn't pass it up. It has 80 3w LED's, so it should put out some decent light. I doubt it will get used that much.

I'm pretty sure I would pay at least half that on shipping alone, never mind the ridiculous exchange rate right now.

That looks pretty good and looks like a good spot.

I think I am going to try and get mine mounted up tomorrow or Sunday. Still waiting for the switches before I can get it all tied up though.

Light bar installed. All  wired up and the connection is sitting inside the cab waiting for the switches to show up. Seems to shine some decent light.

Super clean install.  Only reason I did mine the way I did was because I didn't want any obstruction of light.  I like it though.  Looks awesome.

That's exactly where I mounted the 30" bar in my 2010 F-150 before I sold it. Awesome looking installation!

Thanks guys, it was the easiest lights I ever put in. It just bolted right into place.

The only thing I need to figure out are what the two "things", I removed do. I'll post up a pic.

Never mind, found out they are grill bumpers.

I'll have to put them back in... :dope:

I was able to sneak away to the garage for a bit today. I was able to install the overhead switches and get the light bar wired up.

I did mess up the headliner and am pretty miffed about it to say the least. I was using the dremel and Heather came in the garage and startled me. You can see it in the final pic under the switches near the left.

It is a really nice kit and I'm very happy with it other than my mess up.

Some assembly required

All soldered up

All installed
