Well, between some crazy stuff going on at work and crazy stuff going on with the family, I took some time to get a couple of truck things ordered up.

Full Race will be sending me a new elbow with the BOV mount in the right place so I can get the winch installed. Probably be a couple of weeks before I see it though.

I also ordered up the bed rack system and seat latches from Builtrightindustries.com

https://www.builtrightind.com/products/builtright-industries-bedside-rack-system-4-panel-kit-2009-2014-ford-f-15

I will have to figure what I want to do for mounts for the gear and then order that up. Hopefully, I can get these installed and then mock up the tools, etc and then buy the mounts I will need.

Snatch block, tree savers, and other winching gear arrived this week while I was away. I'll get some pics up when I get home. I really hope to be able to put the wrenches to the truck in April and get ready for some May exploring!

Glad Full Race has you covered.  That rack system is pretty cool.  And for what it's worth, that's a bad ass axe they used as an example.  I have one.

Hope all is well with whatever crazy stuff is going on with the family.

Thanks Mike, I guess I'm just getting to the age where the parents are getting on and just aren't as independent as before.

At lease we have a plan and things should turn out well.

I also bought a Fiskars axe and hatchet to mount up to the rack. Found them on sale through a local independent hardware store and couldn't pass them up. Crazy light and I think they look cool, lol.

The goal would be to use the racks for
- RotoPax Gas can
- Hi-Lift Jack
- 2.5lb Fire Extinguisher
- Fiskar Axe, Hatchet, sawzall
- First Aid Kit
- RotoPax water container and maybe their storage container if I can find a deal on one

One of the racks will have to be "modified" so I can still access the 12v and USB outlets I mounted in the box. Not sure yet, but I may take it to be powder coated properly after I cut it up. We'll see....

I'll probably just take a day off work and spend it on the truck. Projects are starting to pile up. Getting close to spring detail season too, so looking forward to that.

Although the parents may not be as independent as before, at least you still have them. Stella and I lost our parents a number of years ago and we both miss them dearly. Treasure every moment with them as I'm sure they treasure every moment with you.

Absolutely Right Tom. Wife and I both lost our Mom's to Cancer last year. We are very far from our Dads and my step-Dad. I honestly think we will be moving this summer to be closer. Family is extremely important and I had to fly back last week at the last minute and then drive 8 hours. Do it again in a heartbeat if needed.

I got2 of these, 1 for my truck and 1 for mom & Dad's RV some years back
- I still had the 2001 Screw when I got them.

http://forresttoolco.com/the_max.html

It is an axe, so it weighs like an axe ( 3.5# head ).
It makes fast work of tree roots from a mature schubert chokecherry tree.
- The tree guy cut it down and ground the stump, I found the roots when I was putting in the bushes that replaced it.

Dad has used the shovel a few times and said it worked good.
- I have not used the attachments, at home I have a pickaxe and pick mattock head for the same handle ( #7 eye ?? ) and full size shovels, but this is my only axe

That looks like a pretty nice kit. I probably would go for it if I didn't already have the shovel, Axe and pick-axe.

Custom Full Race elbow showed up today. Took about an hour, but all went well and I was able to install the winch mount. Hopefully this weekend I can get the winch installed.

Looks good!  Get on it.  I have no patience for this stuff.  I want to see it finished!

On a side note, I need a winch for the Maverick.  Im thinking a Superwinch 4500.

I would go with at least a 4500# winch. Super winch are really good value. You may hit the jackpot on a warn on a forum or local Craigslist. Lots of folks pull them off these days to sell separate from their SxS.

Awesome!  It it just mounted or do you have it wired up yet?  Go find a tree and try not to rip the bumper off.

All wired up and ready to go. I do have to spool it out and then reel it in with some tension on the rope. Hope to do it this weekend, just need to find a tree! :uugly:
