2010 Honda CRV - 1st detail of its life
« on: December 20, 2014, 01:05:49 AM »
Got done with the convertible and mom & dad swapped cars and left their, new to them, 2010 honda CRV here.

I did not get the best pictures of the sides.  i did get some good shots of the tailgate and the roof.

The clay replacement towel sounded like 60 grit sandpaper on the roof.  There are a ton of etching on the roof and hood and there was something that looked like over spray or something on the sides.

Few shots to give you an idea of there I started at noon today

I just got done with the 1st coat of PL on it.
- I am going to wait until they get back in the spring to polish it and put Opti Coat on it.  It is going to spend 4K or 5K miles behind the RV all over TX, NM, AZ and then back to FL the next 3 months.

Once I get the 2nd coat of PL on it, I will shot pictures of the finished work.

I used the Flex, run flat out ( speed 2 for Pl application ).

2-3 passes of Poorboy ProPolish on a LC orange pad

2 passes of PB PP on a White LC pad ( flex speed 6 )

1 pass of PB PP on a blue LC pad ( flex speed 6 ).

I tried the Rupes 15.  Leave that for another review.

Looks like a lot of tree sap and road grime.

Question, why power lock first step? OR did I read that wrong?

Question 2...how loud is your Flex on 6?   You wear ear plugs?   Mine is loud a shit.

Steve,

Looks like you've got your work cut out for you once again! That color should look pretty awesome though.

JP,

I've never had any problem with excessive noise from my Flex, and I run it flat out all the time.

It was posted a bit screwed up.  I guess after 12 hours, it turned out like drunk posting.

It was one of my long posts.... :funny:

Once I get the 2nd coat of PL finished I will take the after pictures.

I always wear hearing protection, I don't take chances.
- I wear an ear plug in my left ear when driving long distances ( wind noise ) or driving screws with a cordless impact driver.

It is like hell week for me.  7 days of paint correction on 2 vehicles that might have had the wax cycle at the tunnel wash, used on them in their life.
- The CRV I think was 100% touchless for how thick the mess was on top of it.

Got done this AM with the 2nd coat of PL.

Tailgate shots

Some of the etching that I did not go all in on.

Hood :

Roof :

de-badged the back while I was at it.  Removed the CRV logo, much easier to polish the tailgate now.
