How would OptiCoat fair in an application like this?

Good thought, but marine growth will grow on just about anything. I really doubt it would do any good.

The anti stick properties of it won't help ?

I know wax won't stick it, but that is not algae and barnacles.

Front and back of dad's RV, it made a big difference.

Unfortunately Steve, I doubt it will. Marine growth is pretty nasty stuff and not much will stop it. In fact if you look at some of the chemicals in anti-fouling paint, you'll scare yourself.

Bought kit for Autopia-carcare... avoided shipped charges.  Thinking maybe I should test Opti-coat 50/50 for a year.  Where is the best place to buy it?

You can try it, but I'm 99.9% sure it won't prevent algae growth/ staining on gelcoat. I'd think a better use for it would be above the water line.
