I must have missed something. What is this vinyl wrap stuff?

Tony, vinyl wrap is exactly as it sounds.  Its sheets of vinyl, adhesive on one side and design/color on the other side.  People do entire vehicles or just individual pieces.  I even did my laptop and mouse.  Look at this video.  You can skip to around 3 and half minutes or so.

So I attempted to do the radio bezel.  It is not up to my standard.  Not even sure the angles can be made in the bottom middle near the power adapters.  all of the opening came out great.  There are some wrinkles along the outside edges that I will do differently next time.  I'm not even sure i like the color.  Here it is somewhat in place.  I am going to peal it off and do it again another time.  Maybe tomorrow.

Just my $.02, but it does look a little light color wise. It may be different with all the wood-grain covered up though. :dunno:

That's exactly what was going through my mind. I was going to do it in the black carbon fiber this morning but I don't have enough.  So I redid it all in the anthracite.  I just can't seem to get it right.  I'm not sure if its me or if its just not possible to hit some of the angles.  It does look better without the wood look.  It is light but also keep in mind the truck is even lighter so its not terrible.  I just think its TOO much.  Its just too big of a piece to be that light.

Would a heat gun help around that corner?

Got to find somebody that does the graphics that you dip in water!

Would work perfectly for this application.

I like being able to return back if need be.  Which by the way isn't easy if you use stick on wood grain.  that stuff sucks to remove.

I'm torn, when I got in the truck this morning and late this afternoon after work, I really like the look.  I may continue on as was the plan but redo the center piece again down the line.

Speaking of the wood grain being a pain... it held me up from completing one of the pieces this morning.  I couldn't get the old adhesive off for the life of me.  Finally got it off just in time to put the piece back together and in the truck... without the vinyl.  I did do then upper glove box though.  Came out great too.  Never realized there was stick on chrome pieces.  I thought the chrome was from the factory.  Its gone now and I did those in black carbon fiber to accent it.  Here is the glove box.  The sun was causing a glare so this is the best I can do for now.  Going to the gym soon and will take camera with me to get a better picture.

I am.  I have a few other pictures I have to get off of my camera of the doors.  After taking the wood trim off of the doors, I discovered that a lot of the interior pieces were grey which I would have preferred over the wood trim which gave my interior an overly dark look to it.  And oddly enough the factory grey is similar to the silver carbon fiber vinyl.
