Looks great, can't wait to see the process you took on it.
- I am taking a shot in the dark it is single stage still.

SS paint always intrigues me, I don't know why...

I hate red.  I really do.  However... when its all cleaned up and looking dripping wet, there's just something about it.  Nice work!

Finally got a few minutes and WiFi!

So this car belongs to a friend of my Dad whom I have known my entire life and have been hunting with since before I can remember. He has had the car for around 25 years and it received some fresh paint about a year or two before he got it. Since then it doesn't see a whole bunch of run time and has about 44k on the clock. It has been waxed 4 or 5 times since he's had, but that is about it. It gets a hand wash once or so a year.

I was amazed to find the paint was Base/CC, I thought for sure it would have been SS considering how long ago it was painted. Who ever painted it, did a pretty nice job, very, very flat. No signs of a polisher ever touching it, but we all know a rotary in skilled hands may leave little to no traces behind. Because of this there was some of the deeper scratches left behind, but even they looked way better and could no longer be easily seen.

What was used.
 - Meg's Gold Class Car Wash
 - Meg's All Wheel and Tire Cleaner
 - Rupes with 5.5" and 6" pads
 - M101
 - M205
 - Optimum Clay
 - ONR (as QD)
 - Opti-Clean
 - Obsessive Metal RX
 - Optimum Leather and Vinyl Protectant
 - Menzrna Power Lock (bet you didn't see that coming, did ya Tom?)
 - Mutitude of Justin's MF's
 - HD @ 4:1

First thing was the standard two bucket wash using Meg's Gold Class.  Rag top was scrubbed with a soft brush and Opti Power-Clean @ 4:1.  Wheels and tires hit with Meg's All Wheel. Then ONR at QD ratio and Optimum Clay. I did 3/4 of the car before I even needed to fold the clay, but figured I would do the whole thing anyway. The after clay wipe-down was done with Justin's new Premium Black and Silver MF's (which work awesome by the way!)

I tried a few combo's and ended up settling with an 5.5" Orange flat Lake Country Pad on the hood fender tops and trunk with M101. On the sides I used a 5.5" White flat LC Pad with M101. I think from a combo of washing techniques, "dusting" and the cover caused the top to be worse than the sides. A few deeper scratches and marred up locations were hit up with more passes using the orange pad and M101.

I did a quick couple of tests and ended up switching to a 6" Green SuperBuff Pad with M205 for the second go around. The 6" pad seemed to allow me to work a bit more efficiently for this step. It finished really nice, I tried a black finishing pad and could not tell the difference in end result, but the black pad required more working time.

The whole car was wiped down gently with ONR to make sure I hadn't missed any polish residue. LSP was Menzerna Power Lock with a meg's foam applicator pad. I'm not gonna lie, I tried it out on my truck last week (painted grill) before using it on this car. I trust in Tom's product choices, but wanted to make sure I know what I was getting into. It went on so easy and came off even easier. I really, really like this stuff!

Wheels and brightwork were hit with Metal RX. Tires hit with HD and then wiped.

I know Jason is going to notice, but I did indeed forget to do the wheel wells. opps... :dunno:

The owner was very happy with the results and we were a little bummed that the sun hid behind the clouds when I rolled it out of the garage. It was stinking hot and really humid!

Pics!
After the wash

There was left over wax all over the car that I spent a good hour trying to get rid of. I still didn't get it all.

Swirls that covered the whole car

Some of the deeper marring and scratches on the top of the hood/trunk

Afters (Some repeats)

Hot and humid, in the 100's with the humidex

I also just wanted to post this up for the hunters in the group. My friend has gotten custom air brushed scenes on the back of his burbans for some time now. I have always enjoyed them.
