Hey guys, thank you! Glad to be here. Been in the boating scene for awhile.  Met too stroked over there on a detailing topic and we got to talking.  He was nice enough to get me registered here and I'm excited to start browsing  :hp:

Here's a few details I've been within the past. I started around 3 years ago, but did not get into it seriously until a year and a half ago (frequent another site). Most of the details have been used with a 21LHR Rupes with an MF Pad or Uberpads and Perfect finish 4/6, FG 400, M101, D300, and 205. Im an accountant by day, so I do this as a nice little hobby and maybe some drinking money during the summer :nana:

Was the paint on the Ferrari a PITA to do ?
- I have read horror stories, but the site I read them at I take with a very big PITA.

I don't recall off the top of my head if RR said one way or the other.
- The one he did last year was red, so that could have some impact on how hard it is to work with.

Nice work above, turned out great.

A 39' Outer Limits? Man, you have my deepest sympathies. Looks like it came out great though. Nice work!

I worked on a 44' OL last summer and pretty much only had to wash and wax it since it was new. Waaaay too much surface area there to play with at my age!  :hp:

welcome again Jay and way to make to make a "splash" on your first posts by actually posting correction shots that are visible.

I think you are going to fit in very nicely here.

Take a look around the site, we have many threads and you have some good candidates for truly shameless reflecto shots.   It's a fun thread, check it out.

Cheers

RR

The Ferrari was a pain... partially because it's black and black cars are tough. Also because its so low to the ground so its difficult to get down and get a good look up at the paint.  Constantly taking the car out in the sun to check for corrections. Paint was in terrible shape as the owner religously would wipe down the car with spray wax after each use.  He is getting better at maintance however still does the spray wax routine once in awhile. I've warned him that each time we do a correction it is taking clear off and that if he continues spray waxing it like that we have a greater chance of clear coat failing.

The boat was is terrible shape as well. We planed on doing the whole boat, but halfway through the deck I told him it may not be worth it to correct the sides 100% like we did the deck.  With the bumpers and docks as well as the angle that you look at the boat, it did not seem worth investing that kind of coin to perfect it.  We ended up going with a finishing polish on the side followed by blackfire midnight sun carnuba wax. He was estatic with the results.

I was very happy with the results in the following projects... they came out awesome, but they all hard their hardships and frustrations.

I'm going to do a 2 step correcton on my Audi (pictured with the outerlimits above) with the rupes system, followed by an IPA wipedown, followed with Gtechnique C1, followed by blackfire blackice.  I just ordered the a full set of rupes pads and polishes (blue, green, yellow, and white) so im very excited to give them a try and see how the "Rupes System" performs.

I have one. It's great for dark colors... It's no good on white as it just drowns out the imperfections. :hp:
