Do I need to upgrade?
Big Slick:
I have an old 7424 (non XP) and I've been curious as to how much of a difference the newer, more powerful models like the Griots or Megs G2 make when it comes to corrections. I have been using megs 105 with flat orange LC pads and it's difficult to remove the swirls in the paint of my truck (2005 f150). I typically have to go over and over one area to get semi- acceptable results.
Thanks!
gipraw:
If you are going to upgrade, I would recommend picking up a Flex XC 3401 VRG.
Since you already have a DA, the Flex would be the next step, imo.
Rollingrock:
I second that on the flex....
I would not use the flex with the Megs MF system, it's more suited for the DA.
Cheers
sscully:
3rd for the Flex if you are upgrading.
I use mine with the Optimum MF pads with great results.
- Quick defect removal.
I was not much impressed by the Megs MF system in general, so I would say don't use.
- Megs claims it works with a DA or Rotary.
Too Stroked:
I have a 7424 (non XP) and the Flex 3401. They both have their places, but I'd vote for upgrading to the Flex too. It's a sweet machine.
