Drying Wash Mitts after use
« on: May 06, 2012, 08:47:14 PM »
I have tried a few things from setting them on the clean grit guard in the bucket, and setting the Gammaseal on the top, so big stuff cannot fall in, hanging them on 2" ventilated PVC  stood on end, and the old school setting them on the drying rack ( which usually has MF towels on it as well )

The one I have not tried yet, and wanted to get an opinion on is using the Peet Shoe dryer using the glove attachment.

Wanted to get an opinion if this is a bad idea.

I keep trying different things to keep them from getting dust and dirt on them while they dry in the garage.

Any thoughts on this, or another option would be great.

This is the best place I could think to put this question.

Thanks
Steve

I (shamefully) just hang them from a line in my basement.

Form follows function.

That one I have not tried, but I don't have easy room for a drying line in my garage.

The wood shop and metal brake / cutting tools are down in the basement, so I don't like keeping exposed products that touch paint down there.

Cleaning wood dust off patio chair cushions is one thing, playing the 'is it clean enough to touch paint' is a game I am too chicken to play.

The extra items ( still in factory plastic ) are in the Acro flip top bins with a large plastic bag covering the top and part way down the sides ( think grill cover ) so any dust on them gets blown off before I get items out.

The air from the Peet shoe dryer is "warm" I guess I should give it a go, and see if I ruin a mitt is about what I am down to.   I have gone the other routes of non forced drying to date, fab'd up & hacked together a few options.

I guess I could get a new house with a detail shop out in back, that would cure a lot of things ( including having any money  :redneck: )

I throw mine in the dryer and don't have to worry about them being dry to put away  :bike:

I just let them hang over the side of the wash bucket until they are dry ..   they get washed prior to each use anyway.
