Well the one thing that I have noticed with ONR is you need to use your head a little...know when not to use it.

It should be treated more like a step beyond just QD.  That said, I have seen dirt emulsify on the surface...maybe that is what you are seeing.

Agreed!  I do think we're underrating the capabilities of ONR a bit though.  While I would never use it on any standing mud/salt/etc., I've not had any problems using it in all other situations when following the proper procedures and using quality wash mitts/drying towels. 

That said, thanks for all the input!  I do think the foam gun will work better for this vehicle since it has about 2x the surface area and a 5 gallon mixture of ONR was definitely pushing the limits.  I probably should have mixed a new bucket halfway.  I also feel like this vehicle has a lot more hard to reach areas like in between the cab and bed, bed and bumper, roof, etc. which will benefit from pre-rinsing with the foam gun.
