Opti-Coat 2.0 on rocker panels
« on: March 25, 2012, 01:26:22 PM »
I am tossing around the idea of Opti Coat 2.0 the bottom rocker area on the doors of the truck and G6.

The question I had, is can this be done without any ill effects ?

The reason I am asking, is it would be having the coating line end facing up, not wrapped around a corner of a body panel
Does this impact longevity  ?

I have read the previous threads here, and did a few google searches without any luck if this is a supported application.
Don't know if an abrupt edge cross links as well as an application where it is to the end of a body panel that wraps around a corner.

Any experience on this type of application would be greatly appreciated.

If you are going to do the Opti Coat, I would put it on the whole vehicle.  I've applied it to many vehicles.  You will notice where you stopped with the coating if you only put it on the bottom panels.

If you do decide on getting the coating, don't forget about the discount I give for members here.

Justin,

Thanks for the info.  I did not get to the noticeable part of the equation.  Guess I should have started with that part.

It was just a thought on the car for the lower part to help out in protecting it.

I'll have to see if I can hide the line on the roof of the cab & cap.  That is something I wanted to do as well.

Also thanks for the other info.
Once I noodle on the OC 2.0 I'll get the order together in the AM while I am on the Monday AM gum scrapping call.

Also, thanks for reminding me on the disco.  I recall that thread with the code change.

Steve

When ordering from my Obsessive Detail site just enter Cafe Member in the comment box at checkout and I refund the 10% discount back to you.  On my Rag Shack site, enter rag10 in the coupon box and get the discount automatically.  The only things the discount doesn't count for is items that are already on sale and polisher kits.
