5th Wheel Camper Detailing Questions
« on: September 23, 2011, 04:00:51 AM »
Hey all! It's been a while...

My friends father has a 25' or 28' camper with a pull-out section. It has been sitting outside for ~10 years, never washed or cleaned, under trees and so on up here in the mountains. I don't know how to tackle this thing, or with what? Are they usually a clearcoat like a car, or are they a gelcoat? He would like the exterior cleaned (not sure about waxing, but if so, it'd probably be a one-step), as well as the interior. What is a reasonable rate to charge to clean these things? I thought about calling local detailers and seeing what they charge, and then beat their prices basically.

Thanks for any help and suggestions!

I just finished my 30' fiberglass / gel coat camper.
I didn't do a full clean on the rubber roof because it wasn't really very dirty, just around the edges, air conditioner, vent covers, etc. I used Tide and some APC in water with a soft brush.

The sides were washed with APC, then polished with Meguiars oxidation remover. Some areas I only used their fiberglass polish. It came in a set of three products and included a wax.

I'd recommend a one step product.

Edit- Realized I'd misread the date of OP! I wonder if that camper ever got done?
