None yet, I'll get some tomorrow.  It was difficult at that point with the clouds and the evening sun.  I'm hoping I don't find anything bad when the sun is bright tomorrow!

Alright, I did the trunk.  I'd say it's a huge improvement, but there are still light swirls.  I did 2 applications of SSR 2.5 with the orange cutting pad and 1 application of SSR 1 with the white polishing pad.  Is there any way to make this perfect??

So thaaaat's what SSR 2 is for (and Pro Polish).  I'd say the trunk is as good as it's going to get for now.  That only took me 3 hours to figure out.  Maybe I'll finish the rest of this beast some other day  :ba:

That looks awesome.  So what was the final combination and order for those results?

That last shot looks very good.  Trial and error is often the best way to find something that works.

Thanks!

I ended up doing:

2x SSR 2.5 on the LC orange cutting pad
1x SSR 1 on the LC white polishing pad
1x SSR 2 on the LC white polishing pad
1x Pro Polish on the LC blue finishing pad

I'm pretty sure I could reproduce the same results with:

1x SSR 2.5
1x SSR 2
1x Pro Polish

I'm not sure I'll be using the SSR 1 very much in the future.  The SSR 2 finished really well and looked almost perfect.  The PP wrapped it up nicely and made the paint much deeper and blacker.

BTW - do you guys have any idea how much work this is?? :redneck:

Then I'm glad it happened!  Otherwise that would have just been something of a nightmare.

It's definitely safe to say you were wasting your time with SSR1 since you stepped back up to SSR2 after it.  Looks like you have it figured out now.  You could probably interchange the SSR1 and PP in this scenario and still get good results.  Not saying you should, because obviously SSR2 followed by PP did a great job.  Just saying that you can.

Yeah, I'll keep the SSR 1 around, especially since I bought the 32 oz on accident

Looks like it turned out great! Isn't it fun messing around with the combos, trying to figure out what works best.

Thanks!

Yeah, it was fun seeing how each of the products works, especially since this was the first real paint correction I've done.  I figured this car would be the perfect canvas for that.  I didn't get paid or anything, that's why I didn't have to finish :D, but I will probably try to attack the rest of it some time in the next couple of weeks.

Also, would you ever try stepping up to the orange CCS pad with Hyper Compound on a PC 7424?  I wasn't sure if I should have tried that or not.

Nice work.
I cant imagine with 90+ days attempting to correct and polish black in the direct sun but at least now I can imagine you doing it.
