Meguiar's Soft Buff 2.0 pads
« on: July 05, 2011, 10:02:59 AM »
I need to buy some more pads and I am thinking of changing from Lakes CCS pad to the Meg's Soft Buff 2.0 pads because I can buy them locally instead of ordering them online. My question is has anyone tried/used them at all and what are your thoughts and opinions about them?

95% of the pads I own/use are Meg's pads.   I have been very pleased with them.

I buy them from Rick @ ADS, or through Amazon, so I get free shipping.  When I am in a bind, I can run to one of the local Body shops that stocks Meg's stuff and pick a couple up .

I use them as well....I use more lakes.

My experience the yellow is about the same as white lake.   The black is well...black.   I think they are about the same.
Thanks for visiting the Cafe, come back often.  There's always something new!

Thanks Gip and JP, I will most likely do the intitial order with Rick for 4in and 6.5in or 7in pads depending on what size the local body shop supply house has hanging on the hook. I don't do much detailing right now but the last one I did I tore up a couple Lakes pads pretty bad and I like the fact that I can run down to pick up a replacement quickly if I snag an emblem or bumper corner again(don't ask how I did it  :dope:).

That's all I have used so far....just haven't gotten around to trying anything different.  I like them.

I have used both the megs and ccs pads and between the 2 I find the ccs pads a bit more durable especially if you are hard on pads or rough on em when cleaning.
My favorites are the Uber pads for light compounding, polishing and finishing.  I have had megs and uber pads hook and loop backing seperate from the foam on a couple of pads.
Other than wearing flat and smooth, the ccs pads seem to be indestructible when compared to the other 2 I have tried.
You can make money or you can make excuses but you can't do both.
