My Camper Mod
« on: June 12, 2011, 08:20:27 PM »
Here it is boys....took me about 5 hours from start to finish to complete this...with some help from my Pops since he was in town.  After MUCH consideration and back and forth regarding the option to install speakers in the camper exterior wall (like the G2 upgrade), I ultimately decided it was WAY to risky, for various reasons....won't go into detail.  Decided to mount them in the storage compartment door.  Turned our REALLY nice IMO.  Pics for the record:

Holes are cut; smoothing out with a dremel

View of the conduit / wire run.  This is mid-way through the installation process; looks much cleaner now

View of inside of the door after installtion is complete

View of front once complete.  These speakers are 100% waterproof.  Putty tape was used to get a good seal.  I'm very happy with the outcome.

THANKS TO CSAD FOR SHARING HIS POST/PICS.....GAVE US A REFERENCE FOR THE WIRING!!!!

Very cool mod, and now you have me thinking since I have some 8" Rockford Fosgate truck boxes sitting in my garage collecting dust.  :nija:

Ha!...do it man.  Speaking of speaker boxes, the compartment itself acts as a box.  There is a considerable difference in sound quality with the storage door closed vs. open.....more bass and overall deeper sound when shut.
